Needless to say that right vows set the tone of your wedding; today, many weddings are made thematic, there is an abundance of wedding vows, corresponding to this or that particular theme. Right vows will make your wedding romantic, meaningful and unique, and as wedding vows are many, the only question is which ones to choose. The primary criterion of selection and editing existing wedding vows is that you should follow your heart. You may find vows, which are entirely for you or you will like a piece of one and a part of another. Do not hesitate in mixing and matching them, as well as in adding and deleting.

The primary adjectives we can apply to right wedding vows, not depending on their thematic direction, are meaningful, beautiful, romantic and unique. Traditionally, they include topics of love, life, partnership and individuality. They can range from religious to secular, and there are ceremony vows to be pronounced in wedding chapels and those ones, which are appropriate to be uttered in the restaurants.

Some couples today prefer writing their own vows, since they will be unique. Another very important point is that wedding vows on your own will express your own feelings, but not of an unknown wedding vows' writer. If you are risky enough and want to try your hand in poetry, why not to create wedding vows of your own? Here are several steps you should follow.

1) As you know, one of the distinguishing features of poetry is its language generosity. Therefore, make a list of phrases and words, which you can use for writing your wedding vows. These words should be connected with such notions as love, passion, support, honor, obey, etc. You should have an abundant number of synonymic and antonymic nouns, verbs, phrases and adjectives to put into the verses. For this aim you can consider the typical words, used in ceremonies and also poetry, books or song lyrics, especially touching your heart. You can also find ready a wedding vow thesaurus and use the words, offered in it.

2) Decide on the theme. It seems the easiest step to decide on the theme, since even the theme of romantic love, the oldest poetical theme is not trite yet. Probably, you will have more ideas, corresponding to our contemporary wedding and family life vision.

3) Devote some time to a dreamy meditation. Do it so that you gain inspiration and muse to write your wedding vows. For instance, go for a walk alone or listen to instrumental or classical music. The most important thing to remember with any of these methods is that you should not let other people interrupt your time and speculations.

4) Choose your topic. The theme is more general than the topic. The topic is a narrow path, which you will follow and it is a specific vehicle to express your theme. 5) Select your style. There are many styles the poems can be written. You may choose one of them, such as a sonnet, ballade, ode, or go without style at all. There are traditional poems, modern, post modern and many more. However, the abstraction will not go here. As you write vows for many people to listen to, they should well comprehend the idea. Nevertheless, if you create your personal wedding vows, there is no need to force them into one of the mentioned forms.

Finally, when your writing is ready, let your partner read it, for sometimes experiencing writing verses for the first time gives rise to so much self-pride that an amateur writer does not notice the oddness of his creation. Let someone observe and appreciate your work.
