Whether it's your first journey, or you are a frequent visitor to Disney's theme parks and attractions, with Walt Disney World, your vacation is a new and memorable experience each time you visit the resort. Possibly the most visited of all Disney's properties, Walt Disney World attracts huge crowds of tourists from all parts of the world. According to the trade magazine American Business, as of 2004, the resort's theme parks were visited by an estimated 40.6 million guests.
While visiting Walt Disney World, you'll enjoy your stay in one of the themed or non-themed hotels, featuring state-of-the-art amenities and modern facilities to stay in touch. The most famous Walt Disney World resorts are those in the value category, including Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's All-Star Music Resort, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, and Disney's Pop Century Resort.
Non-Disney resorts are owned by such private companies as Holiday Inn, Starwood, and Hilton, and include Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel Disney World, Doubletree Guest Suite Resort, Grosvenor Resort, the Hilton Resort, Royal Plaza, Shades of Green, and Holiday Inn in the Walt Disney World Resort.
The best way to start your Disney World travel is in the resort's greatest theme park, Magic Kingdom, with its major attraction of Cinderella Castle. Introduced in October 1971, it was the first theme park to open within the resort. You'll enjoy such world-renowned attractions as Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and Peter Pan's Flight.
The Downtown Disney area is famous for its numerous entertainment venues, notably the House of Blues, the Cirque du Soleil Show, and Disney Quest.
Golfers will be surprised to find five world class golf courses, the Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista, the Palm, Osprey Ridge, and Eagle Pines, and two miniature golf courses, such as Winter Summerland and Fantasia Garden.
All-the-year-round, Disney World Travel Guide offers trips and excursions to the major attractions of the area, including Universal Studios and Sea World, among others.
Due to the introduction of Disney's Magic Your Price in January 2005, Disney World travels have become easier and more affordable than they used to be. This park ticket pricing allows guests to spend more days on the Disney World property, instead of visiting various theme parks. Available are such offerings as the Park Hopper Option, allowing you to visit more than just one park per day, the No Expiration Option, without which your ticket will expire two weeks after its first use, and the Water Park Fun & More Options, providing you with the opportunity to visit between two and five water parks, Disney Quest, Disney's Wide World of Sports, or Pleasure Island.
As part of the Magic Your Way package, the Walt Disney Company designed a special service, Disney Magical Express, allowing guests to take transportation from the Orlando Airport to the hotels.
