The Wisconsin Innkeepers Association has been serving the tourism industry since 1896 by supporting its members in marketing, education, information and governmental affairs. Wisconsin Innkeepers state their mission terse and clear, "To provide services and benefits for members to improve the profitability and success of the lodging industry in Wisconsin."
Today, Wisconsin Innkeepers join approximately one thousand and one hundred Lodging properties and more than two hundred Vendors/Associates, CVBs/Chambers of Commerce, Corporate Lodging, Educational Institutes and Students, who benefit much from the WIA's membership.
The Wisconsin Innkeepers Association offers a number of free publications, valuable for both the Association's members and Wisconsin visitors. The Annual Wisconsin Lodging Directory is a kind of a reference book with the distribution of over two hundred and fifty copies through the Department of Tourism and contracted distribution in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Another publication, the Quarterly Inn Touch Magazine, is a management magazine of Wisconsin's lodging professionals. The organization also provides members with the Legislative Innvolvement, a magazine, specializing in legislative issues, and WIA Legislative Directory, a regularly updated reference to all Wisconsin legislators. Monthly Electronic WIA Innsider Newsletter keeps each member informed of changes and new trends in the industry.
Wisconsin Innkeepers educational programs range from global conferences to targeted interactive workshops. The WIA's Resource Library with industry books and videos is available to members for loan at no cost. The WIA members have an access to hospitality training materials of AH&LA's Educational Institute at twenty five percent discounts.
Wisconsin Innkeepers pay much attention to the marketing and promotion of its member lodging properties. The properties are listed for free in the annual Wisconsin Lodging Directory and offered discounted rates for the publication. They are also listed free at the WIA's website, www.wisconsinlodging.info with links to their own websites and the online reservation service. The Wisconsin meeting and event sites are also presented at the WIA's website. New Marketing features on the Wisconsin Innkeepers website are Gift Certificate and Featured Property pages that facilitate properties' search and allow to discover new lodging properties in Wisconsin. The website has links to the most efficient employment sites (Hcareers.com, HospitalityOnline.com and WiJobs.com) that offer job-posting discounts to the Wisconsin Innkeepers' members.
The WIA offers its members an opportunity to network with other lodging industry peers at Committee and Board meetings as well as educational events and the Lodging Conference. The WIA also deals with legislative issues, representing its members on the state and national level and cooperates with other states lodging associations. The Association is a State Partner of the American Hotel & Lodging Association; through this partnership, the WIA members obtain extra benefits in promotion, education, communication and networking.
