As it happens in most cases, the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers was established by a number of volunteers, who shared a common wish to enhance training in the hospitality industry. They elaborated revolutionary ideas that finally turned the CHART into one of the premier organizations of the kind, joining over five hundred representatives of the hospitality industry. What were those ideas? Here is the answer...
An informal group of volunteers, who were passionate about their profession, set the Council of Hotel Trainers with the vision
To be a premier training association in the hospitality industry;
And with the mission
To develop hospitality training professionals, to advance industry training practices and improve operational results by providing an easy access to education, tools and resources.
The founders of the organization jointly considered that continuing learning, sharing information, developing personally and building relationships were vital if you desired to achieve a high standard of professionalism and contribute to their company's growth and profitability.
Therefore, they concluded that the guiding principles of the successful and highly professional Council of Hotel Trainers as well as the Council of Restaurant Trainers should be Learning, Sharing, Growing and Caring. This idea resulted in providing a limitless access of members to learning and education, experience sharing, professional growing and caring.
While the first three constituents of the Council of Hotel Trainer's project are quite comprehensible to general public, the forth one is an aspect that has made the CHART an organization with a difference. Caring means close networking and building lifelong bonds where members actually want to help each other solve challenges.
In fact, these principles in addition to continuous attention to developing new opportunities for members have created a unique Council of Hotel Trainers that boasts for great achievements, progresses as well as responses of approval and gratitude from all members and participants.
Today, the CHART consists of over five hundred members and represents multi-unit restaurant and hotel companies. A typical CHART member holds over ten years of training and human resources experience and affect over fiv thousand employees in eighty units. By helping trainers do their jobs more professionally, the CHART positively impacts millions of employees, customers and companies and the industry as a whole.
What is new? The CHART launches a series of webinars, which emphasizes the organization's unique approaches to accessibility of learning programs as well as its dedication to technologically advanced practices.
