What cheap convertible cars can you find today?In old times, in infancy of car industry it were comfort "closed" autos that well-off people preferred, and cheaper models were convertible. These days the roadster-lovers have a fine opportunity not to buy a convertible used car. They are offered to economize more than 3000 euro and to purchase the new version of Smart in which there is motor with lower capacity.
Until recently, even the cheapest 2-seat convertible Smart did not cost less than 18 330 euro. In new Smart the 61Hp engine is placed instead of 82Hp one.
Due to this fact, the expense of fuel does not exceed 4.9-liter per 100km.
However, this car can develop a speed of 100km per hour within 15.5 sec.
The base equipment of Smart roadster presupposes the top made of artificial material and it can be taken away only by hand. There is also the version with an automatic electric drive, but it is accessible for the additional payment only.
Of course, as on the previous models of roadsters, the system of course steadiness ESP is installed. Thus, Smart can be an interesting alternative for one's choice of cheap convertible car.

However, the trio of cheapest convertible cars in the world has the following members:
1. Citroen-Pluriel. It is a bright, nice illustration of the thought: "The most available does not mean bad". The car is bright and attractive as well. Very interesting top - the result of constructors' genius, makes everyone pay the attention to the owner of the car...Moreover, its base motor fully copes with the city drive.
2. Peugeot-206CC. The vice-champion of auto sales in Europe represents itself as a coupe and a cabriolet at the same time. After 20sec, one will see above rigid top or the blue fathomless sky. By the way, the top is water-resist and defends passengers from winter frosts rather well. The price of this wonder-car is about $20 000. There are variants of motors: 1.6-liter (110Hp) and 2.0-liter (136Hp).
3. Volkswagen-new-beetle. The roadsters of this brand have never been perceived as cheap cars, but the recently-come version retro with 1.6-liter engine is one of the most cheap convertible cars at that instant. Nevertheless, its "modest" motor does not prevent this car from having self-confident and dandyish look.
The line of cheap convertible cars can be proceeded by Opel Astra Coupe of Bertone production and by coupe-cabriolet Peugeot 307CC (the construction of its top is similar to 206CC). The price for both models is about $25 000. Convertible Astra Cabrio with soft tent is more expensive: plus $2800.
One can easy make out roadster from cabriolet (it is hard not to notice two convertible car seats), but cars are very different, and each of them is waiting for its owner.
