Visit Hilton Hawaii - The Most Diverse Destination Of The Area

Added: 03/25/2006

The largest, and the most conspicuous vacation destination in Hawaii, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is a wonderful place for families with diverse interests, swimming and snorkeling enthusiasts, and visitors alike. Once you experience its array of activities, an extensive list of dining and entertainment venues, and sugar white sand beach, you'll definitely want to stay in this paradise and return to it again and again.

When the Hilton Waikoloa Village was established in the late 1980s, there existed no place in Hawaii that could be compared to it. Today, this 62-acre resort has all the possible facilities to satisfy even the most demanding traveler, from award-winning restaurants and outstanding service to exciting shopping and magnificent art collections.

The main attraction at Hilton Hawaii is its four-acre snorkeling and swimming lagoon and beach, offering a unique opportunity to watch rare green-sea turtles and colorful tropical fish, or even to become a part of the interactive program, guided by Dolphin Quest. Included in the program is a 30-minute swim with dolphins in a natural lagoon.

Two freshwater pools, the Kona Pool and the Kohana Pool, feature Jacuzzis, hidden grottos, waterslides, and waterfalls, while the third pool, the Ocean Pool, is available for adults looking for solitude and quiet.

The main sports pleasures and outdoor activities here include golf at one of the two 18-hole championship courses, tennis at one of eight courts, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, biking, a game room, shopping arcade, and a variety of children's programs.

Guests of the Hilton Hawaii can also take advantage of the Kohala Spa, designed to contribute to health and well being through a multitude of services. Located in the Lagoon Tower, the spa is a 25,000-square foot facility offering aromatherapy, body masques, nutrition, Lomi Lomi Hawaiian style massage, and Tai Chi classes.

Both championship golf courses at the Hilton Hawaii are designed by the leading names in the sport, and offer many challenges whether you are a beginner or an experienced golfer. The fascinating beauty of the Kohala Coast borders the wonderful Waikoloa Beach Resort course, rating among the most widely reputed in Hawaii. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, the course offers fabulous golf for each skill level. Challenging putting greens, interspersed with water and sand traps, are distinctive features of the 30,000-square foot Seaside Putting Course, designed by outstanding golf architect Robin Nelson. Available around the course are self-guided botanical tours of many unique plant species.

You'll also see here a beautiful pond with small waterfalls, flourishing lilies, and rock features. Groups consider this area to be an ideal choice for team building golf events and sunset receptions. Those willing to improve their golfing skills are welcome to join Golf Programs at Kohala Sports Club and Spa, teaching highly specialized golf flexibility exercises.

The Hilton Hawaii is proud to present eight tennis courts, including one stadium court surrounded by a spectacular garden setting. This 432-seat court is known for hosting tournaments and competitions between in-house groups. Visitors can also take advantage of tennis lessons offered by professionals to both groups and individuals.

To get around the well-favored resort, guests are offered canal boats, a museum walkway featuring a $5 million art collection, and a Swiss made tram. Alternatively, you may roam through gardens of exotic wildlife and flowers, and past beautiful waterfalls. The best time to visit the Hilton Hawaii is late spring, summer, or autumn to avoid the peak season.
