Established originally on ten acres of land in the historic district of Savannah, Forsyth Park expanded significantly in the 1850s. In 1851 it was named in honor of John Forsyth, then Georgia Governor. Today the park is seen as one of the most popular tourist destinations, mainly due to its majestic fountain, constructed in 1858 and the Fragrant Garden for the Blind. Forsyth Park is a great addition to any vacation itinerary in the great state of Georgia!
