US family travel: skiing and snow tubing in winter, beaches in spring

It is not hard to see why the USA is a blast for a family travel; Disneyland has made children of all ages, and their parents as well, squeal with glee for years, while many all-inclusive resorts do their best to satisfy each family's requirements for the most enjoyable vacation. America is an inexhaustible source of family travel ideas and all four seasons are perfect to have the most marquis vacation for both: fun and learning.

It is hard to plan a vacation with kids. Sometimes, they make so intriguing choices and it is always difficult to say what they will like or hate. As a rule, they are often bored to death by things and ideas, which we, adults, enjoy most of all. Luckily, many US family travel packages are able to satisfy desires of both parents and children in any season of the year.

If you plan a US family travel in winter, the choice of destinations is limitless. You may choose from well-known ski resorts to family b&bs and it will never be a mistake to purchase a family vacation package in a large US city. However, there are places that can take you well out of the beaten path. For instance, the Big Bear Lake in California is excellent for a winter US family vacation. Nestled in the San Bernadino Forest, the lake is less than two hours from Los Angeles and four hours from Las Vegas. A family-friendly atmosphere is a queen, ruling the Big Bear Lake with its family owned hotels, inns and b&bs. Certainly, there is skiing and snowboarding on more than seventy five different trails. Nevertheless, night skiing under the lights and snow tubing are activities that make you feel like a bear at a polar night and your kids endlessly squeeze with delight.

The Alpine Slide at the Magic Mountain is specifically constructed for tubing and its best feature is a moving sidewalk. Hence, you need not worry about tiresome walking up the hill every time you tube down; a moving sidewalk takes you and your tube up back to the top of the hill. The desired accommodation in the Marina Resort Hotel, located on the shore of the Big Bear Lake, provides scenic views of the lake and the mountains, as well as a pool, whirlpool, volleyball court and boat slips.

As a rule, many schools have a ten-day "spring break" in either March or April, and a US family travel during a spring break is bound to many opportunities. You can head to the south to beach resorts or to Colorado ski resorts, filled with kids programs, kids-only terrain and fun amenities, but Orlando is undoubtedly the hottest spring break spot for families. OrlandoInfo.com, (the site of the Orlando Convention and Visitors' Bureau), presents spring break packages that combine theme park admissions and lodgings with a lot more options. It will be both an entertaining and educational US family vacation if you visit the Orlando's World's Fair for Kids this spring. You can expect a mass of impressions and an encyclopedia of new knowledge, gained in themed pavilions on health, sports, technologies, learning, games and toys. The fair also suggest live entertainment and many interactive experiences. The Walt Disney World is still the greatest attraction in Orlando and the spring 2006 will feature new attractions, shows and special decorations.

The Amelia Island, Florida, is a nice beach getaway for a spring US family travel (April, May, June). Named after an English princess, the daughter of the British King George II, Amelia features a beautifully restored Victorian town, a historic fort and two excellent beach resorts. Amelia walking tours and day trips, organized by travel agencies are exceptionally historic and scenic.
The other Florida destinations, beautiful and friendly for a spring US family travel, are the Sanibel Island with its top rated resorts, spa and the Clearwater Beach with miles of beaches and urban delights nearby.
