Turtle beach is a place where one can see extraordinary and unique creatures which are green turtles, to see how hundreds of those small creatures are leaving from warm sun beach in order to start their adult life in the depths of Mediterranean Sea

One can find a turtle beach in Turkey, Cyprus, Malaysia, India, and Ecuador. The most attractive is Ecuador which is located on the western coast of South America, crossed by the equator and is contiguous with Columbia and Peru. It is washed by the Pacific Ocean from the west.

This is very small country with its area of 283,520 square kilometers. Geographically it is subdivided into three parts: Pacific Ocean coast line, mountain chine stretching in parallel to the coast line and which contains a number of active volcanoes and the height of some peaks reaches 6310 meters and the Oriente, which is upper basin of Amazon river to the east from Andes. Ecuador includes the Galapagos Islands which are located at a distance of 1000-1100 kilometers from the coast and each of which contains a real turtle beach. The entire archipelago is a national park.

Galapagos means turtles from Spanish. So the world famous turtle islands were named in honor of the great number of turtles, those ancient animals which were living since the times of sea rovers. Turtles were not only exotic creatures but also a main source of feeding, they were taken onboard alive and used as food during a long sea trips instead of tinned fish.

Today they are not so numerous, but there are still a few types of those ancient and unique creatures and there is only one turtle male Lonesome George who is near 300. This is the last representative of a kind which is now-vanished and he is not able to copulate and to create posterity. He is living the rest of his days in the nursery of Darvin station being a trip purpose for many tourists and visitors.

The Galapagos Islands are islands of volcanic origin and are treated as relatively young (appearing approximately 3 million years ago). To reach the place one can fly from Kyoto or from Guayakil and it will take a couple of hours.

The Turtle islands which include Selingaan, Bakuungaan, Kechil and Gylisaan islands are placed near north-eastern coast of Sabakha. It takes 2-3 hours to get to the islands from Sandakan. This is a right place in the coast water of which there are a lot of famous green and hooked nose turtles. They used to go out to the islands deserted beaches during the whole year round in order to lay off their eggs. Clear water and clean, untouched beaches are the most attractive points for not numerous tourists on turtle beach resort. Accommodation conditions are available only on Silingaan Island.

Visitors will also find a small information centre in which the tourists will be presented by a short documentary film telling about the habits and life style of those amazing animals which are on the verge of disappearance. In order to prevent species from extinction, turtle beach is very often provided with turtle nurseries where turtle eggs being found on the beach are collected and placed into specialized incubators, and later small turtles will be released to the sea.

Turtle beach in general is a place which is featured by white, soft, warm and the finest sand as if being sifted through sieve with the smallest mesh. Turtle beach is a favorite place visited by both the tourists during day time and by turtles during nights when the beach is free.
