Almost everyone of us likes to travel. Some of us will choose a familiar scheme: airport-hotel-standard set of planned excursions. And some prefer individually planned, original trips. But no matter what kind of travelers we are, we all have to deal with packing which cannot be imagined without travel organizers.
In this case we are not speaking about a person, who organizes our trip, but a container you put your luggage in. The better you plan the contents of your suitcases, the more pleasant your journey is going to be.
The standard weight allowance for most flights is 20 kg for checked-in luggage, plus additional 5 kg as hand baggage. It is more than enough for a two-week supply of T-shirts and paperbacks. And you know it better than anyone, but every time your travel packages contain much more than you really need. You safely forget of most of the items you take "just in case" .
However, millions of us persist in a back-breaking exercise that involves emptying almost an entire wardrobe into our travel organizers, paying porters and taxis to transport our luggage, hunting desperately for trolleys at busy airports and arguing with cabin crew about how much can be carried on board. And that's before we have to work out how to carry back the souvenirs we buy on holiday.
"Large stuffed animals, life-size sculptures and birds in cages are just some of the most challenging items the passengers have attempted to bring back from holiday in their travel organizers", says a spokesman for the International Air Transport Association.
So, as you may see packing these travel organizers is not that simple as it may seem at first, and it requires skill. But Rome was not built in one day! In this article we tried our bests to give you as much information as possible and we really hope it will be useful for you. Here are some basic tips, following which will save you from much problems and dissappointment:
1) Learn more about the climate of the country you are going to visit and the approximate weather forecast or your holiday. If it's going to be hot and sunny, you certainly won't need an umbrella and warm pullovers and coats. And you definitely won't need a bikini going to ski in Switzerland. But it will be rather wise to take an after-sun body lotion to an Egyptian sea resort. This advice will make your travel organizers much lighter.
2) Try to escape taking clothes which need ironing. It may cost you extra effort to get them ironed. Besides, you will hardly want to waste your time on ironing. Take plain and casual clothes with you. Of course this does not apply to a situation when you are going to dine out with a Royal family during you holiday.
3) Learn more about the tour itself: if it is a high-class cruise voyage, you will definitely need at least one coctail and one evening dress. But if you are staying in a 3-4 star hotel at a sea resort it will be waste of packing space. Or imagine going on an excursion tour via the most beautiful historical places of Europe without a camera in your travel organizers. All this seems ridiculous when you read about it, but I will never believe this never happened to you.
The best advice is old but trusty: take half as much luggage and twice as much money as you think you may need. You can always wash your shirt or buy a new one abroad, but you won't always find a branch of your bank.
Have a nice holiday!
