Required minimum for becoming a travel agent is a high school diploma. If you have it you can already turn to the recruitment agencies. But the thing is that the more informed customers become the more informed and professional should a tourist agent be. You can pass some travel agent programs in a vocational school. It can be either a full-time program that you'll compete in a few months or some evening and weekend courses. Travel agencies specially welcome the travel agents with a college diploma, because college education gives one profound knowledge about world history, geography, management, computer science and so on which are a good basis for any travel agent.
