If you travel with anything that works from electricity, you will have to pack an adapter plug, converter or transformer. Depending on the country voltage may differ from 110 to 220 volts. North America and Canada run on 110-125v, while European countries have 220-250v. Plug shapes, plug holes and sockets are also different in each country.

The differences in current frequency and voltage created the demand for the development of devices, which are able to convert power level voltages from one level to another. Such devices are known as transformers, converters and plug adapters. All of them perform similar functions, but are used with different appliances.
