The 1960s ushered in the jet age. The reliability of the airliner brought about new records of safety. Unfortunately, the ability to carry more passengers involved potential for larger disaster. Before 1960, only one crash had claimed the lives of over 100 people. By the end of the decade, over 18 had done so. Let's recap some tragic airline crashes as we pose the question, "could they have been prevented?"
