The national tourism office TINET was established to offer assistance to US travel and tourism industry providers, from individual establishments to communities, using intelligence and market analysis. Working with the Commercial Service officers' promotional efforts, these services provide industry knowledge and market conditions to promote the market, encouraging international travelers to visit the United States.
The export assistance emphasized by TINET is carried out through research analysts and tourism trade specialists at the organization. This involves an effort from convention and visitor bureau to reach trade associations, communities, state tourism offices, industry players and other organizations involved in tourist-related products and services. A partner in the effectiveness of TINET export assistance efforts is the International Trade Administration's Commercial Service, covering more than 100 export assistance offices in the United States and nearly 150 foreign service offices in over 80 countries worldwide.
As are the number of federal agencies focus on tourist-related issues, TINET is committed to the federal team oriented approach for creating a more diversified force to help the tourism industry. Together with the US Commercial Service, it organized the Travel and Tourism Team Training with the Department of Commerce, as well as 9 other federal agencies to facilitate and promote tourism in the United States. The main objectives of the meeting were: to strengthen program awareness; to develop plans of action for coordinating trade events, training and communication; to forge federal partnerships in support of the travel and tourism industry in the United States. Tourism Industries functions as the federal tourism office, whose main function is to collect and analyze international travel and tourism statistics for the Travel and Tourism Statistical System.
Implemented by the TINET Tourism Advisory Board are the following programs to constitute the international travel and tourism statistics for the Travel and Tourism Statistical System: Basic Market Analysis Program, Survey of International Air Travelers Program, Visitor Arrivals Program, US International Air Traveler Statistics Program, Canadian Statistics Program, Travel and Tourism Satellite Account Program for the United States, Impact of International Visitor Spending on State Economics Program, Forecast of International Arrivals to the US Program, International Travel Receipts and Payments Program, Destination Data Improvement Initiative and Travel Barometer Program. Offered by TINET is also a wide range of services, including most up-to-date market analysis of international visitor information for travelers coming to the United States.
