The United Kingdown is a great place to visit and stay at the the UK inns. The United Kingdown has a great collection of inns. Over the last years it have been invested over £18 million in over 40 of wonderful inns, all of which have been restored to their former glory.
You will find delightful rooms, delicious home cooked meals and a warm, relaxed atmosphere with personal service - making us the perfect place for business or pleasure. The UK inns are excellent value for money and offer a unique base for shopping, racing and golfing breaks, as well as business meetings and conferences.
Old oak beams, comfy chairs, wonderful fireplaces, crackling log fires, beautifully restored rooms... the one thing that all Old English Inns have in common is their individuality. They're packed full of history too.
The phrase a 'cock and bull' story derives from the 18th and 19th century travellers - visit the Queens Head Hotel. Royality has crossed over steps on a number of occasions. Very own Queen Elizabeth II sought refuge during a blizzard at The Cross Hands Hotel. In 1644 during the Civil War King Charles I stayed at The White Hart Royal, Moreton-in-Marsh.
It worth mentioning again that a number of the UK inns have recently been refurbished, now providing you with the very best accommodation and service.
Many of properties have traditional decor and preserved period features. Any refurbishment work is simply to improve on the high standards. All work has been blended in to emphasise the already beautiful architecture in place. From log fires to four-poster beds, all the UK inns are steeped in history, charm, sophistication and, most of all, real character.
All of the Great Inns of Britain are independently owned and run. The qualities that unite us also distinguish us: a warm welcome, exceptional standards, distinctive character and, it has to be said, the odd eccentricity. The inns are full of warmth and character. Cosy bars, lounges with squishy sofas, elegant restaurants, luxurious bedrooms and sumptuous bathrooms - Great Inns have all the ingredients for a wonderful break. At certain times of the year, Great Inns offer special packages which make taking a break even better value for money.
The Blue Lion Inn was originally built towards the end of the 18th century as a coaching inn, attracting trade from travelers and cattle drovers on their journey through Wensleydale. Today valued visitors come from all over Britain and beyond, but they still receive the warmest of welcomes. The Blue Lion has been extensively, but sympathetically, renovated and is now widely regarded as one of the north of England's leading country inns.
If you pay your attention on the old inns of other countries like USA, for example, you will find another type of them. BoardWalk Inn for example is a hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort and opened on July 1, 1996. It was built to be very reminiscent of the boardwalks that were famous along Coney Island, New York in the 1920's-1940's. The sherbet-colored facades, flagged turrets, striped awnings, and even a waterslide resembling a wooden roller coaster are all inspired by that by-gone era. It is one of the Epcot Area Resorts, located across the lagoon from Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and it is a short walk to Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios. There is also water transport available to Epcot, The Disney-MGM Studios, The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and the Swan and Dolphin resorts. The hotel also shares it's lobby with Disney's BoardWalk Villas.
