Costa Blanca is named after the white houses that formed the old fishing villages and nestle into the hills that rise in the background - a holiday makers' paradise. The Costa Blanca, the 'white coast' is mainland Spain's most popular year-round holiday area, including not only lively Benidorm - 24 hours and seven days of serious fun for all ages and tastes - and other well-developed resorts, but the elegant provincial capital Alicante.
In the north the Costa Blanca starts with Denia and Javea two wonderful towns at the bottom of a mountain. In the south the Costa Blanca goes down to Guardamar and Torrevieja. With such wonderful cities like the Elche, the palm tree capital of the world. You can basically travel in Costa Blanca all the way along the carretera, alongside the coast. Make sure when you come along these beautiful sometimes small villages looking for Costa Blanca apartments and holiday homes that you have enough time for a stay.
There are many attractions in Costa Blanca, some of them especially for tourists like the entertainment park Terra Mitica at Benidorm or the bays of Altea and Calpe. Others are smaller towns and villages like Villajoyosa just south of Benidorm, famous for its old town and its chocolate. To me the biggest beauty of the Costa Blanca comes from the Seavill. Its beaches along with its tiny villages give the Costa Blanca its unique attraction.
Just to the southwest are the palm groves of Elche (Elx), a beautiful remnant of Arab agriculture in Europe. Murcia is the center of a major agricultural region and has a Gothic cathedral with a beautiful Baroque facade. Further north along with Gandia and Oliva between Moreira, Benissa, Teulada and Denia you will find the city of Javea with the Cabo de la Nao. It's one of the areas where lots of new Costa Blanca Property and Costa Blanca Real Estate are sold. You also might find some Costa Blanca villas for sale there. The sands in Costa Blanca are some of the best Blue Flag beaches in Spain, and are beautifully looked after.
The main two beaches in Costa Blanca are located in Benidorm; Levante and Poniente are Blue Flag award winning, beautiful golden sandy beaches which stretch over 5 kilometers. There are numerous other beaches in the surrounding area, mainly golden sand, although some of the secluded coves are rocky. Nightlife and beach days are not all this beautiful region is famed for.
A short stroll in Benidorm's old town will take you back to a quaint Spanish lifestyle, while there is a wealth of traditional mountain villages just a short drive away. For those looking for a more peaceful holiday, we offer a selection of smaller and more cultural destinations to the north of Benidorm.
It's worth coming to Costa Blanca just for the culinary experience. The region offers a wealth of traditional restaurants and Tapas bars. The local drinks are Moscatel, Sangria, wine and Spanish beer. Eating out is generally good value in Costa Blanca.
All along the coast you'll find golf, horse riding, and mountain trekking, bikes for hire and a full complement of water sports.
Costa Blanca is really a place to be!
