Attica is located in the geographical center of Greece and is washed by the Euboean, Saronic, and Corinthian Gulfs. The climate of Attica is typically Mediterranean with hot and dry summers with little rain fall. There are cool and mild winters. The mountains receive some snowfall each year but this rarely extends to the low lying area. Frost conditions are also very rare.

Athens is a city of intellect and is part of the Attica Basin. Athens is approached by all the possible ways and as the center of the country it has connections with every area of the country. The position of Attica in Attica Basin is defined by Mount Parnitha and Mount Penteli whose great masses of people commands the north. Sounion is one of the most famous and picturesque places in Attica. Sounion is about an hour ride southeast of Athens. Its famous cave is the location of the foundations of a temple called Athena Souniaea and the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon. For many visitors, Cape Sounion in Attica comes as a shock and as a relief. Often the first sightseeing destination of the participants of the tour group who arrive in Athens in the afternoon.
