A Great Opportunity to Foster Cultural DevelopmentHeld bi-annually in Adelaide, South Australia, the Adelaide Festival of Arts is regarded as one of the greatest and most prestigious arts festivals in Australia and the world. The strong tradition of the festival, on-going now for many years, showcases the presentation of a wide range of art from Australia, as well as the whole world. Established in 1960, the Adelaide Festival of Arts is held every even year.
Events comprising the festival include theatre, opera, dance, cabaret, contemporary and classical music and new media. The festival is located on the North Terrace, the cultural center of Adelaide, which is home to Elder Park, the Adelaide Festival Theatre, the State Library of South Australia, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, the University of South Australia, the University of Adelaide and the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and Park.

The Galway Arts Festival is held annually in Galway, Ireland. Started in 1987, it has grown to the largest festival of arts in Ireland, attracting not only local, but international artists. The festival is organized by Galway Arts Festival Ltd, a nonprofit organization. One of the premier festival of arts in the United States is the Lakefront Festival of Arts, which celebrated its anniversary in June 2005. The first festival of arts occurred in 1986, while the last one will take place in February-March 2006. The artistic program of the New Zealand International Arts Festival comprises high quality opera, dance, theatre, music and visual and literary arts.
