The Canadian Wildlife Service - Taking Care of Business (and Nature!)

Canadians are famous for their love of wild life and care of nature. Endangered species, research on nationally important wildlife items, control of international trade in endangered species, and international treaties are managed by the Canadian Wildlife Service- one outstanding among the great number of different associations and organizations. The CWS is taking care of business by taking care of Canada's wildlife and natural resources.

Not surprisingly, the number of different profitable, non-profitable, national, local etc organizations and associations conserving nature is immense. One of them is Canadian wildlife service. It is a Canada's national wildlife agency handling wildlife matters that are the responsibility of the federal government. This includes the protection and management of migratory birds and nationally important wildlife habitat. Endangered species, research on nationally important wildlife items, control of international trade in endangered species, and international treaties are also important items of the Canadian Wildlife Service.

The management of wildlife in Canada is shared by the federal, provincial, and territorial governments. The Canadian Wildlife Service of Environment Canada handles wildlife matters that are the responsibility of the federal government. Other responsibilities are control of international trade in endangered species, research on wildlife issues of national importance, and international wildlife treaties and issues.

Canadian wildlife service pays a great deal of attention to such objectives as encouraging an understanding of the impact of human activities on the environment Canada. That is reached by

Conducting and sponsoring research relating to wildlife and the environment on the basis of which the Canadian wildlife service can recommend legislative changes to protect wildlife and its habitats.

As part of its responsibility to manage migrations of birds, the Canadian Wildlife Service consults with provinces and territories and issuing the results in annual migratory bird hunting regulations.  Beside,  on the ground of its research results, the Canadian wildlife service issues licenses and permits for fishing, game hunting, and trapping, guidelines for safe angling and trapping ,and outfitting policies.

The Canadian wildlife service is closely connected with a chain of large and small provincial and territorial wildlife agencies, which in their turn bear responsibilities for all other wildlife matters.  The regulations of these agencies work is performed by means of conservation and management of wildlife populations and habitat within their borders.

The Canadian wildlife service not only performs research of habitation and species, their number and migration, it also conducts a lot of other work. For example, the Canadian wildlife service web site provides information interesting and useful not only for biologists, but to common people as well. To be exact, the Canadian wildlife service explains what to do, if there are some bats in the house attic or badgers etc in your garden.

Besides, the information on hunting and trapping or in any concern about a species in a specific area is available at the official Canadian wildlife service site (www.cwf-fcf.org).  Thus, this is the way the Canadian wildlife service also involves people into the process of acquainting them with their natural surroundings. Through extensive education and information programs, encourages a future in which Canadians may live in harmony with the natural order.
