Since its establishment, the Association of Hotels and Resorts has successfully provided its members with competitive pricing and broad coverage, determined by financially stable insurance companies. Currently more than 120 independently owned hotel properties and resorts are members of the Association, which allows them to achieve significant discounts on insurance-related issues.
Over the years, the Association of Hotels and Resorts has adhered to its mission to provide owners of independent resorts and hotel properties with top quality cost-effective and stable insurance to protect them from the financial loss. The Association's goal is to establish itself as an internationally recognized insurance provider for independently owned destinations, historic resorts, luxury hotels and spas. Thus, the organization strives to become the #1 choice among North America's independent hospitality properties for offering the highest quality insurance products and services via the member owned and managed organization.
In accomplishing this mission, the Association maintains the following goals:
- Develops and maintains long term relationships with its members built on shared values, trust and confidence;
- Demonstrates financial success by keeping prices reasonable and products affordable;
- Ensures that its services and products meet needs of customers; provides effective risk management services and loss control;
- And acts as an employer of choice among American Motel Associations and similar organizations, in order to attract the most talented staff.
Among the program items of the Association of Hotels and Resorts is the annual conference, held at one of the member resorts and attended by all of its members and insurance company representatives.
It also provides the opportunity to share ideas on issues of vital importance and learn more about the organization's insurance programs and round table discussions. Held during the Annual Conference, the Membership Meeting provides a forum for members to express a position on vital issues. Promoted and sponsored by the Association of Hotels and Resorts is also a loss-control program, providing each member with loss-control audit every two years with recommendations and reports if needed.
The Association of Hotels and Resorts also pays particular attention to setting its members' claims. And despite the fact that the majority of claims don't require interference, their careful monitoring ensures efficiency of the process. Published by the organization is a quarterly newsletter, sent to each of its members. It contains new member updates, industry news, resort news, loss-control items, and covers a wide variety of items.
Following the conditions change, the web site of the Association is constantly modified and improved with the following services available: annual conference registration, completion of all application forms, emergency services update and association bylaws and policies.
The Association can assist its customers in marketing their workshops or promotions by developing a page on their web sites and posting a response form.
