The goals of Mandarin language school

China like most things, is the emerging study abroad country. Every year the number of students going to China to learn Chinese or rather Mandarin increases dramatically. Specially selected programs in China immerse students in the Chinese culture, while considerably improving fluency in the essential language skills at Mandarin language school.

Chinese is the most popular language in the world. More than one billion people in the People's Republic of China, PRC, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other places in East Asia speak Chinese. Significant populations of people who speak Chinese also live in urban centers around the world. For example, San Francisco has the largest Chinese-speaking population of any city outside of China.

China like most things, is the emerging study abroad country. Every year the number of students going to China to learn Chinese or rather Mandarin increases dramatically. From emerald green paddies to tumbleweed stretches of the 2,000-year old Silk Road; from violent typhoons to mountain blizzards; and from the Terracotta army to the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, China is vast and varied. In addition to its breathtaking landscapes and rich history, the world's most populous country pumps with a pace of change that is overwhelming and intriguing, especially considering its context.

The primary mission of EducAsian language service is providing their program participants with the optimal conditions for the study of Mandarin Chinese in an effective and fun manner. Therefore, they  select only top ranked, well respected universities with a long tradition of teaching Chinese to foreigners. EducAsian staff work closely with the local Chinese teachers to tailor courses specifically to the needs of their students.

These Chinese Language Programs are specially designed to offer the perfect balance between in class learning, optional classes, sightseeing, weekend trips, specialized lectures and extra curricular activities. Programs vary in length from 2 weeks to a year.
While the majority of the programs are held in Beijing, they offer students a wide variety of locations and times in which to study, and unique combinations of locations to allow participants to get the most out of their time in China.

A summer with the Choate Rosemary Hall Program in China can be all of these things.

You can spend time with a host family and attend class at the university four hours each weekday. Participate in a variety of activities, such as calligraphy, painting, and dancing, and cultural events, such as the Beijing opera.

The Choate Rosemary Hall Summer Program in China immerses students in the Chinese culture while dramatically improving fluency in the four essential skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing at Mandarin language school. The five-week program, located in Beijing, the capital city, is comprised of one month's study of spoken and written Mandarin Chinese at the Beijing Mandarin language school. Each student will live in a dormitory community for two weeks and stay with a Chinese host family for two weeks, while attending classes at the Mandarin language school four hours each weekday. Classes are taught by experienced, native speakers. In the afternoon, students will participate in a variety of activities, such as calligraphy, painting, and dancing, and have an opportunity to attend selected cultural events, such as the Beijing opera.

The goal of these programs? The development of fluency in Chinese, both written and spoken at a selected Mandarin language school,  in a secure, caring environment.
