An overwhelming variety of MBA courses makes the process of choosing the best one a daunting experience. To make it easier, many future MBAs turn to MBA rankings, which are often contradictory, subjective and far from impeccable.

MBA rankings aim at measuring the repute of separate MBA programs by drawing parallels between them on the basis of a series of factors. Some rankings, like the ones made by the Business Week or the Wall Street Journal, are considered to measure the overall quality of certain MBA programs, while the others, like ComputerWorld's Top 25 Techno MBAs, have a more narrow focus; in this case they compare the technology employed.
