Southern Vermont offers outlet shopping in Manchester and excellent ski resorts like Mount Snow, Bromely, and Stratton Mountain. Quaint small towns like Arlington, Dorset, Grafton, and South Newfane. Bustling small cities, like easily accessible Brattleboro, Manchester, Manchester Center, and Bennington, make Southern Vermont a favorite with many vacationers and business travelers. Stratton Mountain Resort, owned and operated by Intrawest, is located in Southern Vermont and offers 90 different trails on a single summit that is stretched out over a 500-acre area. Twelve chairlifts, summit gondola and the only six-passenger high-speed detachable chair lift in the New England area service the mountain's 2,003 vertical drop. Stratton was truly the first resort in America to welcome Jake Burton Carpenter and his new snowboard concept and the resort is home to the famed U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship each March. U.S. Olympian Ross Powers, who grew up in Stratton's shadow, will conduct two snowboard camps this season. Stratton and Tubbs have combined for a fitness snowshoe tour program as well. Stratton is less than 30 minutes from the outlet shopping mecca of Manchester.

Among winter recreation you will find snowshoe tours at the summit, two Nordic centers, ice skating, sleigh rides, live entertainment throughout the village.
There is also another famous resort in Stratton is Stratton Mountain Ski Resort which is located near Manchester, Vermont in the Village of Bondsville. This resort offers 35% novice trails, 37% intermediate trails, and 28% advanced trails. Stratton Mountain Ski Resort is 90 trails, 14 lifts, and 583 acres of skiing terrain.
