Jamaica is an island in the West Indies, 145 km south of Cuba and 100 161 km west of Haiti. The island is made up of coastal lowlands, a limestone plateau, and the Blue Mountains, a group of volcanic hills, in the east.
Jamaica's shores are as beautiful below the surface as they are above, especially along the north coast, where conditions are wonderful for scuba diving. Treasures range from shallow reefs, caverns, and trenches, to walls and drop-offs just a few hundred yards off-shore. Most resorts provide small sailboats, and yachts and cruisers can be rented as part of hotel packages or at daily or weekly rates. Jamaica has spelunkers salivating. The island is honeycombed with limestone caves and caverns, particularly in the west, but extreme caution should always be exercised, especially in unmapped areas.
1,800 feet above sea level awaits a true tropical rainforest-19,000 acres filled with vivid flowering vines, luxuriant greenery, approximately 30 species of birds, and a whole menagerie of spectacular fauna - that is St. Lucia and your St Lucia summer vacations. And, with 29 miles of trails running through this cornucopia of natural wonders, you can completely immerse yourself in the very soul of this remarkable environment. Even sea creatures are beguiled by the glory of St. Lucia. That must be why St. Lucia is renowned as one of the top sites for whale watching in the entire world. Every year over 20 species of whales are sighted from this island's pristine shores. From humpback, pilot and sperm whales to spinning and spotted dolphins, you too can observe these colossal mammals as they cavort and frolic in their natural habitat, drawn, just as we are, by the almost mystical call of St Lucia summer vacations.
A place so filled with natural splendor that everywhere you look your eyes fall upon yet another glorious sight. St. Lucia truly is a tropical paradise beyond compare. Offering an almost endless stream of activities to whet your appetite for adventure, relaxation and good old, simple, fun, this lovely spot will enter your heart and never ever leave.
The sand at Reduit Beach is whiter than any other on St Lucia. Reduit Beach is one of the finest and prettiest beaches on the island. It has crystal clear waters with soft light brown sparkling sand. This is an excellent place for boating, sailing and parasailing. The beach has lots of water sports and convenient accommodations for your St Lucia summer vacations.
As there are few resorts fronting the beach, the beach is very crowded on weekends but much better during the weekdays. Windsurfers enjoy this scenic spot while surfing in this beautiful bay.
Reduit Beach is a public beach so you may find yourself buying bird feeders made from coconuts rather that getting the tan you wanted. This may be worth it as the sand at Reduit Beach is whiter than any other on St Lucia. Overall, the beach is very scenic and has super swimming as well as enough cafes, bars and restaurants to keep you going throughout your stay. You may as well go for fishing, snorkelling, and scuba diving during your summer vacations in St Lucia .
