The sand at Reduit Beach is whiter than at any other on St Lucia. Reduit Beach is one of the finest and prettiest beaches on the island. It has crystal clear water with soft light brown sparkling sand. It is an excellent place for boating, sailing and parasailing. The beach has lots of water sports and convenient accommodations.
As there are few resorts fronting the beach, the beach is very crowded at weekends but much better during the weekdays. Windsurfers enjoy this scenic spot while surfing on this beautiful bay.
Rodney Bay Marina has a good range of shops where you can buy designer clothes and accessories, local art and jewellery. Noah's Arkade opposite St. Lucian Hotel is quite a good place for picking up gifts or mementoes.
There are a couple of dive shops in Rodney Marina and a swimming pool if you fancy a change from all that perfect white sand! Non-guests may be able to pay to use the tennis courts and other sports facilities at the Papillon.
On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays there's late night dancing to international and Caribbean music at Indies in Rodney Bay. It opens at 11pm and there is a bus shuttle from most large hotels.
Key Largo at Rodney Heights serves real Italian food such as home-made pasta and great minestrone soup. Scrumptious pizzas are put together before your very eyes.
Many people reckon that The Lime at Reduit Beach is the place to go for West Indian food. The buffet lunch is good value and the seafood dishes at dinner are quite exquisite.
Wherever you are in the Caribbean you are likely to find something or somewhere that will remind you of your homeland - and always something more to expand your horizons. While staying there you'll find it difficult to leave - the warmth of Caribbean hospitality is only equaled by the sunshine of St.Lucia.
