Some Facts For Brown Skin Lady About Tan

Tanning culture is very strong nowadays- we all envy those lucky brown skin ladies who tan easily and take practically no measures to preserve the bronze tone on their skin. The thing is in their skin type, they say. It is true, that dark skin ladies practically never sunburn, but it doesn`t mean they are completely in safe from skin cancer, premature aging and wrinkles.

Now the first thing all tan- worshippers do before taking sunbeds is choosing  sunscreen appropriate to their   skin type. But what is the skin type itself? You know that we all have different colored skin, and this  problem is very old, if not to say ancient- at least 3 hundred years people are concerned with the problems why  brown skin lady is safer from the skin cancer than fair-skinned ones.  The thing is in melanin- a pigment in the skin of a person. This very pigment determines the color of  the dermis, and the more  melanin people have the darker their skin is.
So it`s natural that not all skin types are alike.  Dark skin lady tans more easily than others  and the tone of the skin preserves for longer time. Besides, comparing with other skin type people these ones are of bigger need of the sun light, without which their skin obtains unpleasant grayish tone. Their skins' high melanin level filters out a lot of UV but, once they move to more moderate climates, they often need to get extra exposure to maintain vitamin D levels. But, the limits are still very strict- even brown skin lady should avoid direct sunrays in the middle of the noon as well as reflected one. It is important to know: repeated exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer and harmful effects to the skin even if you don't burn. Although people with medium to dark olive skin tend to tan more  easily than others, they can still get sunburns. Brown skin lady or man can also suffer from overexposure to UV-light. There is more and more evidence that both  UVA and UVB damage even dark olive skin, but most sunscreens protect only against UVB. Brown skin lady should use "broad-spectrum" sunscreens, which  protect against UVA rays(but it is important to check the UV-A SPF), leading to wrinkles and thicking of the skin. Sunscreens are rated according to a sun protection factor (SPF), which indicates how many times more it protects than the time someone would normally take to burn without lotion,  SPF only indicates the amount of protection from UVB, not UVA.  It is still important for these skin types to avoid being in the sun longer than they need to be. Even if you are a dark skin lady  and do not sunburn easily, you can still develop the other signs of photo ageing (sun-induced ageing) such as pigmentation and age spots (solar lengtigines). Besides, cancerous moles as well as  breast cancer can still be dangerous consequences of overexposure of UV light even by brown skin ladies.
So, brown skin ladies should know that sunscreen is necessary only for the exposed parts of the body.  But be careful: prolonged use of bleaching creams can burn the skin. this happens  because these creams remove the inherent melanin protection of brown skin lady. Most bleaching creams contain hydroquinone which blocks the production of melanin and also destroys the skin's melanocytes, thus increasing skin sensitivity to sun. in other words, brown skin lady can notice some kinds of  bleach on the skin, accompanied by peeling and itch. Clothing is a noncontroversial, completely safe way to protect against sun damage. In any way, be vigilant and not let yourself sunbathe without any  sun protection.
