Samos Restaurants and Lively Bars

With sugar cubed and terra cotta roofed villages, fine scenery, and fine beaches' hugging its beautiful coastline, Samos is the Isle of the Blessed. Its verdant green is just waiting to be discovered by walkers and nature lovers. Samos is also well known for its traditional cuisine and there are many restaurants to prove that.

Samos, an island paradise is only a stone's throw from Turkey and has rugged mountain slopes which rise up from pine covered hills that are sweet and fertile valleys with many olive groves, fig trees, and vineyards. Sheltered coves and long golden beaches grace the shores and there is a rich cultural heritage to explore and discover. Because it offers a warm welcome, Samos is simply charming.

Samos is famous for fine cuisine. Here the quayside taverns overlook harbors that are dotted with colorful fishing boats and sleek white yachts. Lively bars compete with traditional bouzuki music while Samos restaurants serve some of the most delicious seafood that you ever had. Fresh fish isn't to be missed when eating out because the waters around Samos are home to a variety of delicious seafood. Samos restaurants often ask you to select the fish before it are cooked and you are usually charged by the weight, especially if you love lobster. Please try some sticky and sweet Baklavas. It is thin sheets of flaky pastry with nuts, honey, and sometimes it has halves of semolina and almonds. Please give the local wine a try. Samos produces some wonderful wine, particularly sweet ruby red wines and dry favorable white wines.

Samos restaurants are represented by both international and local Greek venues. The widest variety of cuisine comes from Vathy. There are also some traditional taverns in some of the smaller villages and they very often have their own specialties. Sometimes, you will have to ask for them because they are not on the menu. There are a wide variety of Samos restaurants to sample the local specialties. Christos, in the capital of Pythagoras is a very popular tavern. Sit back with a traditional Greek meal and some local wine and watch the world go by from on of the outside tables.

Flavour Restaurant id located on a promontory overlooking the sea at Votsalakia is a causal restaurant decorated extensively with bamboo. Serving tasty snacks and drinks under a large canopy, it becomes a swinging party spot as soon as the night falls.

Located on the southwestern part of the island, lies the beautiful fishing village of Ormos. Here their unpretentious dinner friendly Gialos diner serves delicious local delicacies. Please help the fishermen pull out the fishes from their nets and then you can pick your lunch. Samos' night life is best appreciated in the confines of a bar, tavern, or restaurants. Samos is alive on every corner at night. Bars and clubs offer some of the best nightlife. Although, the island isn't known for its loud nightlife, you will find bars that are lively or a disco or two at the larger resorts and that will keep you dancing into the night.

Mike's Bar Number Four has an awesome sound and a great light night atmosphere. It is near the Pythagoras and Escape is a very popular bar in town. With its fabulous drink selection and chill out patio overlooking the bay, you shouldn't leave town until you have been there. The Cafй Society makes Samos a prime location to people watch and enjoying a refreshing drink as you watch the sun dissolve into the sparkling sea.
