Winding between the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes and the Haunted Mansion, the path leading to Critter Country in Disneyland is decorated to resemble a woodland area with its cliffs and caves. It was specifically created for Splash Mountain, one of two attractions at Tokyo Disneyland, the other one being the Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes. Despite the fact that Critter Country in Disneyland is seen as one of the smallest lands in Tokyo Disneyland it is also one of the most favorite attractions enjoying wide popularity with tourists worldwide. The designers have created wonderful and touching scenery that is integrated into many shops, attractions, and restaurants.
Recognized as one of the greatest attractions at Tokyo Disneyland, Splash Mountain has a tremendous impact on Critter Country in Disneyland because it occupies most of its territory. It was inspired by one of Disney movies Song of the South and is filled with singing and dancing critters in it. The attraction also has beautiful music including the song, Zip a Dee Do Dah. But, perhaps the most prominent feature is the mammoth drop that is located at end of the ride. According to the Tokyo Disneyland guide map, it is the highest steepest and wettest drop ever.
Contrary to what most people think, Critter Country doesn't end at the entrance to Splash Mountain .If you proceed further and take a left turn, you will discover even more beautiful landscapes un the area of the Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes and the Raccoon Salon. One of the most low tech attractions at Tokyo Disneyland, Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes allows you to paddle a real canoe down the Rivers of America. Before getting on the canoes, the visitors are provided a paddle and the leader guide will show you how to use it. During the trips, many stops are made for a break from paddling and view some of the sights along the river. On a hot summer day, a canoe ride is a lot of fun and it is also entertaining. Even if you are not an enthusiastic canoe rider, it is strongly advisable to take a short walk to this part of Critter Country in Disneyland to enjoy the rustic scenery. It is also possible to take the Mark Twain Riverboat Cruise that takes the same path as the canoes but it requires no participation from the visitors' standpoint.
