Pristine Beaches And Turquoise Water on Turks And Caicos Spring Vacations

Added: 10/20/2005

The Turks And Caicos consist of two main islands: Grand Turk and Salt Cay, which are separated from the Caicos by a 22-mile-wide deep-water channel, the Turks Island Passage. The Caicos group consists of six principal islands: West Caicos, Providenciales, North Caicos, Grand Caicos, East Caicos and South Caicos. All are flanked by small uninhabited cays.

Average temperature is 75-85 degrees year round.  Tropical breezes keep you comfortable.  Climate is tropical, marine, moderated by trade winds, sunny and relatively dry - that is why Turks and Caicos is considered to be a good destination in spring.

The Turks consist of two main islands: Grand Turk and Salt Cay, which are separated from the Caicos by a 22-mile-wide deep-water channel, the Turks Island Passage. The Caicos group consists of six principal islands: West Caicos, Providenciales, North Caicos, Grand Caicos, East Caicos and South Caicos. All are flanked by small uninhabited cays.  Providenciales' posh hotels, casino gambling and direct flights from Miami attract most dive tourists. Grand Turk, on the other hand, has fabulous diving too, but lacks the posh resorts and takes a little more effort to get to for Turks and Caicos spring vacations.

There are 230 miles of white sand beaches round all the islands surrounded by coral reefs and azure water specially for your Turks and Caicos spring vacations. Grace Bay on Provo is the longest stretch of sand, at 12 miles, and despite the hotels it is possible to find plenty of empty space, but no shade. There is rarely any shade on the beaches.

Get away from it all and enjoy the warm crystal clear water, clean air and miles of pure white sand beaches during Turks and Caicos spring vacations.  The most beautiful blue water you can imagine surrounds Grand Turk. Clear and warm, the turquoise blue turns a deep dark blue just a few hundred yards from shore where the wall drops. Visibility averages 100 feet and the water temperature ranges from 82°-84° in the summer to 78° in the winter.  Besides the magnificent corals, sponges and anemones, commonly seen creatures include; sea turtles, manta rays, eagle rays, mahi-mahi, barracuda, jacks, parrot fish, drums, atlantic spadefish, short nosed batfish, grouper, snapper, grunts, squirrelfish, lobster, spider crabs, moray eels, octopuses, shellfish, reef sharks, bull sharks, whale sharks, hammerheads, humpback whales.  Combine the adventure of scuba diving and the thrill of whale watching during the winter months at one of Turks and Caicos resorts.   The North Atlantic Humpback whales migrate south through the Grand Turk Passage to the Silver Banks and return again.

Experience diving or snorkeling while at Turks and Caicos spring vacations. The reefs of Grand Turk invite you to come take a look at the enchantment of the underwater world and are perfect for underwater photography. The marine life is big and plentyful, the corals healty and colorful.

Experience whale watching. Combine the adventure of snorkeling/scuba diving and the thrill of whale watching during the winter months. Oasis Divers offers divers the rare opportunity to see and possibly snorkel with the amazing North Atlantic Humpback whales as they migrate south.

Visit neighbouring islands. Gibbs Cay, a small, uninhabited island only a short distance southeast of Grand Turk, with white sand beaches and shallow snorkeling reefs.  On this trip you can actually swim with sting rays...!

Pristine beaches where you can always find a place to be alone and crystal clear turquoise water - that is the Turks and Caicos spring vacations!
