Table top displays (or table top exhibits) have been around for a long time and are still one of the most popular trade show displays available. There are many different types of table top displays in the retail industry, however these are different from those referred to in this guide.
They get the name table top (also spelled "tabletop") because the display generally sits on a table. The table it sits on often has a table skirt to cover the legs of the table and give more of a pleasant appearance. This type of display is great for small trade show exhibit spaces, usually 100sqft or smaller. Prices for a table top display can range from US $200.00 to $800.00 depending on the size, quality and accessories purchased for the table top display. Table top displays like other displays and exhibits, can vary in size and look. Because the common table size for table top displays are 6ft and 8ft tables, most table top displays are 8ft in width or smaller, with the average table top display being around 4ft - 5ft in width. Most of these displays come with a table top display case.
There are many different types of table top display systems, demarcated by their structure, look, use, or size. The following is a basic breakdown of the different types of trade show displays currently on the market.
1. Portable Table Top Display - This refers to the table top display which is compact, easy to fold up or store, and designed for easy transport;
2. Briefcase Table Top Display - Also known as a "briefcase display" or "briefcase display system", this refers to table top displays that can be folded up and converted into a briefcase for easy transport and delivery. Most of these table top displays use a folding three panel system, which when folded shut, appears to be a briefcase from the outside;
3. Panel Table Top Display - This display is essentially any table top display that uses an interconnected panel system as its main structure and look. Most panel table top displays are three panels that unfold to display the center main panel and two side end panels, sometimes the same size or smaller then the center panel. The next most common panel table top display refers to a five panel system which creates a type of arch with pushed in center piece. These generally look better then most three panel table top display systems;
4. Pop up Table Top Display - This table top display uses a pop up system, the same system used by the popular 10ft and 8ft curved pop up walls. The table top displays are able to be constructed entirely of graphic panels, giving it a full graphic look, or they can use fabric panels which allows one to velcro their graphics right onto their table top display. Pop up table top displays can be either curved or straight, often have round ends, and can have lights mounted to the top of them for better viewing. Although costing more, pop up table top displays give a nice smooth look unlike the panel table top display systems, which make them an attractive buy;
5. Custom Table Top Displays - This refers to table top displays which are custom designed and or custom made, and often don't use any modular system. Because of their construction they generally are not easily portable and so most custom table top displays refer to custom retail displays and not trade show table top displays.
