Planet Beach tan salon is a kind of "other worldly".As the autumn months approach summer memories may fade, but healthy skin tone doesn't have to. CEO Stephen Smith coupled his experience in personal training and gym management with an entrepreneurial drive. He opened a tan salon, Electric Beach, in the Uptown district of New Orleans, Louisiana in April of 1995, with the intention to enter professionalism and franchising to the indoor tanning industry.
The tan salon was a success, and Smith was prepared to expand. However, the name "Electric Beach" wasn't quite right. It didn't encompass what the company stood for, the company had worked to create an experience that was similar to a beach vacation, only with an edge. It was exciting to tan at the beach tanning salon kind of "other worldly".
From that sentiment, the first Planet Beach franchised tan salon opened in Georgia in 1996. Since that time, Planet Beach has grown substantially with hundreds of franchised locations in the United States, Canada and Australia.
Planet Beach's franchise locations will be outfitted with a number of different machines that provide services typically found in day spas. Sophisticated massage machines that fully adjust to each client's individual needs and body type will be on hand to offer soothing massage. The massage will take place in private rooms to guarantee each client's comfort and privacy. Facial machines will also be available to clients and will provide customers with a variety of treatments, including Luminous Facial(TM) phototherapy treatment, which combines light therapy and topical skin care products to rejuvenate facial skin and counteract the cellular damage caused by stress, work activity, and environmental factors.
Additionally, the groundbreaking tanning spas offer new "high-pressure" tanning beds specially designed to provide a quality tanning experience aimed at helping clients achieve a beautiful skin color while preserving the health and vitality of their skin. The beds feature specialty bulbs that lower the risk of UV skin damage, and Planet Beach locations offer a variety of different tanning lotions and skincare products to protect and enhance each clients' skin.
Planet Beach has over 280 franchise locations worldwide and plans an ambitious expansion campaign as the company moves to promote its new tanning spas.
