Formed five decades ago, the Pacific Asia Travel Association is an international organization headquartered in Bangkok, with more than 2,500 members composed of the destinations, hotel groups, retail travel agents and tour operators, based mainly in the Pacific Asia Region. Among other international members are travel writers, publications and other organizations with particular interest in travel within the Region. Additionally, there exists a network of 77 Chapters, with the UK Chapter of the PATA foundation ranked second largest worldwide.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association, commonly referred to as PATA, is the authority on travel to the Pacific region and Asia, offering information on transportation, accommodations and attractions, in addition to helpful travel tips and approximate rates. Today as ever, the Association adheres to its founding principle, which is to promote the myriad features of the Pacific region by uniting a number of tourism authorities to provide tourist with information and services.
