Applied Sociology is a subfield of sociological science concerned with mobilizing scientific procedures and principles that can be applied in problem solving. In the most general sense, Applied Sociology is the use of sociological knowledge, tools and skills to address and resolve social problems. Many applied sociologists are engaged in specific problem resolving in organizational settings, while others pursue evaluation research.
