You can have a great holiday in Oregon - indoors and out! Attractive resort towns, an outstanding scenic coastline, and lots of accessible wilderness make romantic coastal getaways in Oregon an excellent choice. And for romantic lodging in Oregon, there's B&B's, resorts, and seaside hotels. Summer weekends can bring crowds to popular spots, but a quiet beach or town is usually only minutes away.
The Oregon Coast includes 362 miles of rainforest, sand dunes, basalt headlands and tidal pools. Oregon coast getaways have all the ingredients for your perfect relax: beachcombing, storm-watching, whale-watching or simply cozying up in a bed and breakfast.
Oregon coast getaways offer a journey along the coast that is one of the best scenic drives in Oregon (and America!). Seaside resort towns, rugged cliffs, and of course, outstanding views out over the open ocean.
If you only have a few days in Oregon, don't miss this wonderful place. A couple of romantic spots on the Oregon coast would include the following.
Astoria - just across the Columbia River from the Washington State border lies Astoria. This small city is a good look at Old Oregon - in fact, its mix of museums, Victorian-era B&B's, steep hills and waterfront have earned it the nickname of "Little San Francisco of the Pacific Northwest"!
Cannon Beach - one of the best spots for Oregon coast getaways especially romantic. Perhaps the best beach in Oregon is here (great place for a romantic "picnic by the Pacific"), and the town of Cannon Beach itself is a delightful little collection of galleries, boutiques, and romantic restaurants and cafes. An excursion out to Oswald West State Park will reward you with magnificent views out over the Pacific.
If you have a plan to make some Oregon coast getaways you should visit the following places:
1. Multnomah Falls & the Columbia River Gorge - Certainly one of the most romantic places in Oregon. A wonderful scenic wilderness and outdoor recreation area, with the second highest year-round waterfall in America. After exploring the many nearby hiking trails, wind down with a drink and dinner at the Multnomah Falls Lodge.
Active couples should visit nearby Hood River, a windsurfing, kayaking and rafting hotspot. The orchards and wineries of the Hood River Valley and a scenic rail journey on the Mt. Hood Railroad are extra reasons for exploring this area;
2.Lincoln City - The broad, sandy beach features superlative wildlife-viewing near Siletz Bay, and Devil's Lake State Park is a gem without equal among coastal freshwater playgrounds. Add prime kite-flying and great restaurants, and you've got the most-visited town on the coast;
3. Crater Lake - Deep, blue and beautiful! Day hikes, wildlife viewing, and exploring the ring road are good ways to experience Oregon's only National Park. For romantic lodging in one of the most secluded spots in Oregon, the Crater Lake Lodge is a natural choice, with gorgeous views of the lake;
4.Brookings - This south coast "banana belt" town has warm enough winters that more than 50 species of flowering plants thrive, along with retirees, sportsmen and beachcombers;
5. Edgefield Resort - A fun romantic getaway in Oregon would have to be this historic, TV-less, romantic Oregon resort. It's a turn-of-the-century recreation and relaxation playground that includes everything from golf and hiking to live music, movies and shopping.
