Egg is what clubbing used to be like. It's a beautifully laid-out, well-designed, unpretentious blast from the past. If you are looking for somewhere to party with all the right breaks and beats, perhaps Egg nightclub in London is your answer. Dancing the night away is easy with the club's house, funk, techno, electro and acid.
These days clubs always seem to come with video installations, art galleries, sushi bars, record labels or some other kind of fauxbrow lifestyle appurtenances. But Egg London nightclub seems to be sent from the past - back when to be a clubber was to declare yourself part of an exciting subculture, when the beats were slamming and DIY culture was all still there for the taking. Egg club is a medium sized club, where you can go to bust your old skool moves to various forms of dance music. It's a venue with three rooms, rotating DJ sessions and a license to drink until the small hours. The three rooms are laid out on two levels around a fabulous central courtyard, with terraces that will really come into their own in the summer. The interior spaces are basic enough to keep that friendly, warehousey feel, but have humorous touches too - a bed for lounging on, a Victorian fireplace still in situ. Egg London nightclub is one of the capital's most exciting multi-media spaces. The ground floor basement regularly throbs to the sounds of stomping house beats as a beautifully decadent crowd get down and sometimes dirty on the dance floor. The club attracts a fashionable crowd dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure and more than its fair share of cool celebrity patrons along the way. Egg is in the ascendant and has already won the BEDA, best London club award.
Egg London nightclub regularly hosts rare club nights such as Junktion - smooth creamy bass. This club night incorporates elements from house, funk, techno, breaks, electro and acid. There is Papadisco - a Pacha bi-monthly that needed a new home and found it at Egg. Papadisco should need no introductions but for the uninitiated think large kicking club land anthems mixed with the dirty underground, and a kiss towards funky electro house. The action starts from 10pm and lasts until you can no longer stand, or possibly 5 / 6am, depending on the club night playing. For those the more hardcore clubbers, every Sunday morning is Bleached - the place re-opens and the party don't stop until late afternoon. You get clubbers from venues all over town - a whole new set of people to talk to about the nights antics. Bleached arrives from 5am onwards with special guests.
The forthcoming events at Egg London nightclub will include every Sunday - Jaded -
Raymundo Rodriguez + DJ JB + Eddy Kruger + Nils Hess + Fat Tony + Strawberry K + Mr Scott + Tedy Hacket + Mark Westhenry + Marble, playing Latin. The party continues at the Sunday morning affair... With three rooms of quality music, a garden and over 900 hedonistic clubbers. Saturday, February 11, PapaDiso - Claudio Cocoluto + Dino Lenny + Shane Watcha + Clint Lee + Alex De Sosa + Gepy + Dan Mather + Marc De Groot, playing House. Friday, February 24 - Playtime - Abe Duque + Marc Romboy + Cass and Mangan + Big Daddy G + Mike Monday + Stretch Silvester, playing House / Trance.
The parties at Egg are spectacular because of the planning and attention to detail and there's always something new to see or to do as well as to dance to music you'll love.
