Nonprofit travel agencies present a collective position of the world on nonprofit travel: the exchange of ideas, seeking mutual solutions and joint promotions. At the same time their mission is to assist missionaries, churches, religious orders, humanitarian organizations, relief workers and qualified not-for-profit organizations with their travel requirements.
After World War II a lot of nonprofit organizations were founded and they have offered different suggestions for travelers most of all but the main field of their activity is nonprofit travel for education. As many travel agencies they have special suggestions for nonprofit travel like Comprehensive Travel Services that offers a full array of travel services: the lowest price on individual & group air tickets, land arrangements and cruises. They offer discounted rates on hotels in Europe alone and of others worldwide and present special programs and tours for students to allow them to exchange ideas.
Grants are presented by different founds and offer variety terms for example:
the Nonprofit Travel Grant is a scholarship program that enables currently enrolled Ph.D. students with an interest in nonprofit marketing to attend the 2005 AMA Nonprofit Marketing Conference in Washington, DC, July 11-13. Funding for this program is provided by the Sheth Foundation. Up to three applicants will be awarded a travel grant of up to $1,500 each. These scholars will have an opportunity to learn from nonprofit leaders as well as prominent marketing academics about the issues facing nonprofit marketers.
Eligibility and Deadlines
PhD students currently enrolled in a marketing department of a US or Canadian accredited business school and interested in the study of applying the marketing discipline to the nonprofit sector are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted online only and must be submitted by June 1, 2005 for consideration.
Selection Criteria
A committee comprised of Board of Trustee Members of the American Marketing Association Foundation and recognized scholars in the field of marketing in the nonprofit sector will make the selections. Applicants are selected based on responses to a series of questions, including a statement of why they wish to attend and how it would be beneficial to them at this stage in their career.
Today more than 70 student nonprofit travels and a lot of student services organizations are placed in all countries. Together they serve 10 million students and youth each year.
Today's students are motivated, globally minded, information aware, technically savvy and more than ever before, must equip themselves with the international education and experience they need to function in today's global society and economy. Affordable access to work, study and nonprofit travel opportunities is a vital part of the educational process and as students and youth represent the fastest growing niche group of travelers.
