Nanjing, China is a wonderful place to visit

Nanjing is the capital of the Jiangsu Province, and lies on the south bank of the Yangtze River. It is one of the most delightful cities in China. Nanjing is an ancient capital of ten dynasties with numerous cultural relics and is also a modern and a romantic city on the middle and the lower parts of the Yangtze River.

Known as the capital of six or of ten dynasties in China's history, Nanjing City also has a brilliant cultural heritage. Nanjing is one of China's most beautiful major cities. As the capital of the Jiangsu Province, Nanjing is the political, economical, cultural, and industrial center in the province and is full of well educated and highly skilled people.

Yuechang was the first constructed military defense in early 472BC and it opened the long history of Nanjing China. In the following years, the city reached its height of splendor at various times. The city served as the capital for several dynasties in China's history. In 1356, in a peasant rebellion, Zhu Yuanzhang later the Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty from 1388 to 1644 conquered the city and renamed it Yingtian Fu. In 1368, Zhu established the Ming Dynasty which was the last feudal dynasty and he gave Yingtian Fu the name of Nanjing. Ten years later, the Emperor made Nanjing the capital of the country. The mausoleum of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang is perched on the southern slope of Mount Zijinshan in the northeastern part of the city. Today's majestic wall of Nanjing that is the longest of its kind in the world is the result of the Emperor's orders. Zhonghua Gate simply means Chinese Gate and is a noted attraction for tourists in the present Nanjing center.

In addition to historical sights, monuments, museums, and cultural sights, there are other items of interests that attract tourists to Nanjing China. The famous Confucius Temple is a memorial place for the Great Sage of China and also has a surrounding area that is bustling with shops, restaurants, and a snack center that are housed in traditional Chinese architectural buildings. In the city Center the Nanjing Museum is a must for travelers with a collection of more than 420 thousand pieces of art including the 2,000 pieces of art that are rare and valued. The observatory on Jijingshan Mountain to the east of the city center was the first modern observatory in China.

In the southwestern part of the city and extending 100 kilometers is the Qui Huai River. The river used to be the most flourishing part of Nanjing in the old days. In many Chinese novels it was renowned as a place that nurtured beauties and romance. Like all of the sights in Nanjing, it tells the story of the past, present, and future of the city. Nanjing China is a city with a rapid development because modern highways and railways connect the city with most major cities within the country and it is becoming a sparkling metropolis with skyscrapers luxury hotels, giant fashion shopping malls, giant supermarkets, and highly developed economic zones. In addition to taxis, public buses, special tourists travel lines, and other means of transport, there is a new metro service in the city. Dazzling shopping malls and department stores can be found in the commercial areas of the city stocked with many international brand names. Nanjing China is also the home of many colleges and universities and a large foreign population. The city is becoming a real international metropolis which much to offer for every visitor.
