Mino and Other La Coruna Beaches -- Discovering the Unspoiled Coastline

La Coruna is a Spanish municipality located towards the north western area of the country, in the region of Galicia. Leisure is an important part of life in La Coruna. There is culture - theatre, music and films as well as wonderful beaches, a beautiful environment and a traditional shopping network. With so many unspoiled beaches along the coast, you'll be hard pressed to select just one as your favorite. But Mino Beach is certainly on of the loveliest.

La Coruna sits on a peninsula, and as such, is almost completely surrounded by water. It has a productive extension of coast line and a port due to what one of the main factors on which its economy is based is the fishing industry. Due to the fact that it also is an important tourist destination and it is a city that is always ready and willing to receive visitors. Tourists can always find something fun or interesting to do in La Coruna.

This city offers a variety of different options from which visitors can choose, such as concerts, theaters, movies, shopping, and La Coruna beaches just to name a few. Those visitors who enjoy going to the movies could have a great time by choosing among about 25 different screens equipped with the latest technology.

Beaches are one of the main attractions offered by La Coruna. Although according to the size of the town, there are only about 2 km of coastlines offering beaches, in this spot visitors can find some of the most beautiful beaches in the region. This way, those visitors who enjoy sea related spots would surely be able to have a nice time while relaxing at La Coruna beaches.

Apart from the Orzon Bay beaches, the city coastline is dotted with smaller beaches and coves for all tastes and with all the services. Water and beach quality is evident from the blue flags flying in the wind. Praia del Orzan is only a ten minute walk away from the tourist office on Avenida de la Marina. Head to the northwest side of the isthmus to find the local beaches which stretch for about 30km along the west coast of La Coruna.
Mino is a popular and lovely beach, 12km north of Betanzos which is a 45 minute drive from La Coruna. Grande de Mino beach has mounds of sand in the form of dunes with vegetation. It has a full range of facilities and a large car parking area. The mouth of the estuary is at one end of Mino, where boats lie anchored or beached on the sand. Mino is a large beach open to the sea.

Praia As Catedrais is another beautiful beach, situated in Ribadeo. It is one of the jewels of the Spanish coastline. The beach offers lazy lagoons, natural rock formations and caves that are perfect for exploring. You won't want to leave.

Carnota beach has crystal-clear and turquoise water. Lake Estivarina lies next to one side of the beach. The waves are moderate in size. It is surrounded by mountains that are covered in lush vegetation.

La Coruna is also an interesting destination for the visitors who wish to spend some time at green open areas and be in touch with nature. La Coruna boasts numerous pathways and natural spaces for all tastes, in order to enjoy nature to the fullest. The various parks and gardens give the city a green shade. The more recent areas, the Monte de San Pedro and the park at Bens, show a clear vocation to help people enjoy the environment.

Shopping is another important activity in La Coruna. There's a wide variety of different shops selling all kinds of products. The four major shopping spots here are: the Picasso neighborhood or district, Calle Barcelona, Cuatro Caminos and Obelisco.

With so much to see and to do, you'll wonder why you didn't schedule a vacation sooner. La Coruna is your destination!
