Millenium Park Events

The idea of protecting not only animals, but people as well from the fussy nervous megacity`s days becomes very acute now, because nowadays there is a real problem - how to have weekends, which will benefit you? We know how- just visit Millennium park, which is an oasis in the very heart of Chicago.

Millenium park is located in the heart of downtown Chicago. It is bordered by Michigan Avenue to the east, Columbus Drive to the west, Randolph Street to the North and Monroe Street to the South. Visitors to the Millennium Park are encouraged to make the Millenium Park Welcome Center their first stop- this is the info centre where one can consult both about the history and the present -day life of the park. What is now known as Millennium Park was first conceived  in 1998 with the mission of creating new parkland in Grant Park Chicago. The primary objective of this organization was to transform railroad tracks and parking lots that had long dotted the lakefront. Because from the 1850s through the late 20th century, the site that is now occupied by Millenium Park was controlled by the Illinois Central Railroad.
Today, with its unprecedented combination of architecture, monumental sculpture and landscape design, the 24.5 acre Millenium Park has become not only a beautiful recreation place, but an important architectural achievement by which the city advantages. And although it is among the oldest zoological gardens in the country (established in 1868), it also is among the most modern-a leader in wildlife conservation, community education and recreation.
Millennium Park is Chicago's most spectacular new venue. Throughout the year, the park is constantly  hosting a variety of   free concerts, exhibitions, events and tours that really offer something for everybody. Seating at most events in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is free of charge and available on a first come, first serve basis. For example, the most prominent Millenium Park events held the last three Sundays in January will be jazz concerts. Visitors will be able not only listen to the voices of Chicago legend Audrey Morris, Nan Mason, Sean Harris Holly McGuire, Sue Conway, Paul Mernero, Daryl Nitz, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael and Mary Monica Thomas but find out lots of interesting facts about the music.  The concerts will be held in  the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millenium park, so it will be just unpardonably to miss them. Millenium  park is open daily from 6am - 11pm and admission is always free as well as to another premier Chicago attraction, Lincoln Park Zoo. Each year more than 3 million visitors come here to get the remarkable learning experiences as well as fun and enjoyment. Famous also for its historical structures, the zoo has succeeded at combining state-of-the-art animal and visitor facilities with beautiful architectural reflections of past times and sensibilities.  Lincoln Park Zoo stands as one of the last free major cultural institutions in the United States and the only one left in Chicago and  continues to be  a free, world-class zoological garden.
Well now the only problem is left - how to plan the weekends in such a way to be able to visit all the attractions of Millenium park and Linkoln park zoo! I think you will cope with that, because never mind what you may choose, it should bring you positive emotions only. And Millenium park will surely do!
