Sylvania is a national forest with 21,000 acres of virgin forests and 36 unspoiled lakes. This area is closed to motorboats on most lakes (and snowmobiles in the winter), but it is available to the public for canoeing, picnicking, hiking, fishing, swimming and hunting. Wildlife abounds here. There are many nesting pairs of bald eagles and loons on our chain. Deer, coyote, raccoon, red fox, bobcat, skunk, otter, beaver, muskrat, bear, porcupine, fisher are abundant in our area. There is a beautiful sand beach on Clark Lake, which is highly recommended for swimming.
You may also travel to Huron Sands Condo, perfect location for Lake Huron vacation getaway. This is an upper end unit overlooking more than 800 feet of beautiful sandy Lake Huron beachfront. Outside there is extensive decking, outdoor seating areas, grills, picnic tables, fire pits, even a boardwalk leading to the beach. Inside your air conditioned hideaway, there is also a bedroom ceiling fan. For your convenience, there are two cable television sets with remotes and a VCR in the living room. Two phones allow you to make unlimited local calls. A set of binoculars lets you enjoy the views. An assortment of books is located in the closet. Both the bedroom and living room sofa bed are queen sized. Plenty of additional feather and non-allergenic pillows, blankets, linens, and towels are provided as well. Both inside and outside, the setting is both beautiful and peaceful. Located just outside of the quaint city of Oscoda, Michigan, the view from your huge sliding glass door is magnificent. Huron Sands condominium complex is buffered from and sits well off of the road. You may even walk to the mouth of the mighty Ausable River.
Inside, this intimate condo is clean, cozy and well supplied for either a couple or for a family of four. The one bedroom, one bath unit has a full kitchen containing dinner and bake ware.
