Great comfort and tranquility await you at the two housekeeping lodges of Mattice Lake Outfitters: Whitewater Lake and the Ogoki Reservoir, that range in size from 25,000 to 35,000 acres. A widely reputed paradise for anglers, the lodges offer some of the most spectacular fishing.
Whitewater Lake Deluxe Wilderness Lodge is situated in the heart of Wabakimi Provincial Park, with the lake itself covering more than 26,000 acres, and is nearly 25 miles in length. Walleye are abundant here, ranging from 2.5 to 3 lbs, while northern pike may exceed 30 lbs. Accommodation options include two- and four-bedroom cabins located on one of the most scenic sand beaches in the north. Generally, the camp is capable of accommodating parties from 2 to 30, and is quite suitable for those coming here for 3-7 days.
The Ogoki Reservoir is somewhat larger in size, covering nearly 34,000 acres. Its construction was initiated in the early 1930s, while the dams were closed several years later, combining the three lakes into one body of water. One of the most popular destinations of Mattice Lake Outfitters, the Ogoki Reservoir is best known for its large size walleye, ranging from 3.5 to 4 lbs. It is also home to sturgeon, northern pike, and whitefish.
At the Ogoki Reservoir Wilderness Lodge guests are offered five guest cabins, spread along the north and east shores of the island. Both lodges feature an extensive list of features and amenities, designed to make your stay as pleasant as possible. All the cabins have electricity, two-way radio communication, full-size gas range, full-size electric refrigerator with freezer, hand crafted pine furnishings, cold and hot running water, showers, sauna, wood stoves for heat, all eating and cooking utensils, gas barbeque, new Lund boats, and padded swivel boat seats with backrest.
With Mattice Lake Outfitters you have a great chance to enjoy some of the best fishing at competitive prices. Thus, if you travel in a group of 2-3 people, the rates are as follows: $915 for three days, $1,015 for five days and $1,115 for seven days. For groups of four and more people discounts are available.
The fishing is truly great and spectacular, and can be compared to that at the Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana, offering unrivaled dry-fly fishing, from the elusive bull trout to the native cutthroat trout.
