Make Your Stay At Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge A Memorable Experience

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a deluxe class hotel resort, located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Its proximity to Disney's Animal Kingdom has resulted in an African theme dominating the resort. Thus, visitors have a unique opportunity to observe real wildlife and animals outside their hotel rooms, and experience being in the real African savanna.
Recognized as one of the most popular and unique of all Disney's properties, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers an array of recreational options and activities for the entire family all-the-year-round. Like any other Disney resort, it features a distinctive theme, embodied in its architecture, interior design, and landscape. Rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge follow the design of the Kraal African village, offering a fascinating view of 100 grazing animals, and even more birds on the property and in private Savannas. Incredible in size, the hotel is hidden from the front, thus creating the feeling of driving to a small safari village.

The third floor of the six-story Lodge features the expansive lobby with a large picture window looking upon thirty acres of land. It is from here that you can walk out on the elevated viewing area and enjoy diverse animal life. The three Savannas, called Sunset, Uzima, and Arusha, were built specifically for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, featuring more than 35,000 shrubs and 100 Sand Live Oak trees.

From golden tones to elaborate ceilings, reflecting the diversity and richness of the African landscape, the rest of the lobby is filled with samples of authentic architecture. The hallways have glass windows, offering Savanna overlooks. While each savanna is closed for two hours daily for handling animals, there are always two of them open at all times. Each Savanna is designed in a unique style, featuring its own flora and fauna. Thus, zebras can be found in the Arusha Savanna only, while ostrich can be observed in the Sunset Savanna. At night, each Savanna is illuminated by the artificial moonlight, creating the presence of a full moon. Generally, more than 200 birds and mammals of some 40 species populate the Savanna area, surrounding the lodge on three sides, and providing guests with the opportunity to observe animal and birds from a number of viewing points, also including the landscaped Arusha Rock.

The accommodations offered at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are finished in bright colors and rich tapestries. All guest rooms feature hand carved furnishings and jewel tones. Altogether, the hotel has 135 rooms with a standard view, 136 rooms with a pool view, 724 rooms with a Savanna view, 191 rooms with a Deluxe Savanna view, 55 Concierge rooms, and 33 rooms with a Deluxe Pool view, in addition to the Presidential and Vice Presidential suites, and a Royal Suite with a living room fit for a king.

Available in some guest rooms are one queen-size bed and bunk beds. 79 rooms have king-size beds, and there also exist 65 accessible rooms with roll-in shower, king-size bed, ADA guide maps, and more. Concierge rooms offer either a pool or a Savanna view. Despite the fact that smoking rooms are available at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, no smoking is allowed on the balconies of the rooms, overlooking the Savanna. All the guest rooms feature a variety of amenities and in-room facilities.

Located in close proximity to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the resort provides its visitors with the opportunity to experience a number of adventurous trips and rides.
