With its inviting climate, multitude of activities, and breathtaking natural beauty of the ocean, mountains, and desert it is no wonder why Baja is only now being recognized as the ideal spot for vacationers from all walks of life. Los Cabos means "the capes" and two towns comprise the Los Cabos area: San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Being so different, they compliment each other very well, offering visitors the opportunity to savor two unique experiences. The two towns are linked by a stretch of pristine beaches, dotted with luxurious resorts. But that's not all you'll find. The chameleon-like desert landscape and endless beaches beckon visitors.
Glitzy Cabo San Lucas is home to resorts and beautiful beaches, while charming San Jose del Cabo still holds a wonderful down-to-earth Mexican feel and pretty La Paz is the perfect place to get away from it all. However you want to spend your vacation, Los Cabos will surely fit the bill.
San Jose Del Cabo is a lovely town which sits on hills commanding postcard views of the Sea of Cortez. First founded in 1730 as a Jesuit mission, the easy going, relaxed quality of San Jose has inspired a fortunate few to make this unique part of Mexico a full or part-time home. The appealing heart of the town, with its charming palm, hibiscus and bougainvillea lined boulevard, is hidden from the main highway. Those who have discovered the town's gentleness jealously guard it so.
Cabo San Lucas is without question, the most active and exciting town in Los Cabos. Located on the southern most tip of the Baja peninsula, gourmet restaurants and wild bars create an exciting atmosphere of a lively fiesta all night long. Perhaps you are interested in going out on the sea? Experience the challenge and thrill of Marlin fishing or the many other game fish that live in the Sea of Cortez. Try a sunset cruise on a pirate ship or on a fun filled party boat. The waters are not only the playground of boaters. Swimmers, snorkellers, scuba divers, surfers, para sailors and jet-skiers are all encouraged to enjoy the warm waters and spotless beaches of Cabo San Lucas.
