Lodging for those who have no villa of their ownWhile travelling you usually don't need much from accommodation. You are changing places, cities, regions, go sightseeing, eat out, go shopping to buy memorable souvenirs and so on. So you need a comfortable bed, fresh linens and towels, a quite room, a well-equipped tidy bathroom, a place to keep all you staff. It'll all called lodging - all the hotels, Bed and breakfast, motels, inns, hostels etc. These all are sorts of lodging meant to provide you with a place to lay your head. Correlating the amount of comfort you want to get with the budget of you journey you choose the lodging that's suits you and your finances the best.
But not everybody likes to spend vacations hushing from place to place. Some want to relax at a fireplace or to enjoy beautiful views at the window. This is called lodging too but it's the case when you leave your own home to stay for a while in a new one - you rent a house in the country, on the seaside, in some exotic place or anywhere you like for a lasting period of time. A house can bear different names according to it's location, national traditions, appearance, sizes or to the caprice the host. It can be called a cottage, a villa, a bungalow, a mansion, a private residence, a detached house and etc. Either you can rent an apartment in a city in some many-storied house and it will be lodging too. But usually people rent an apartment when they are going to live in a city or need to come and to stay there frequently because of their business or any other affairs. The problem with apartment rental is that it's usually not meant for tourists - it's not easy to find this kind of lodging in the historical center. And even if you do you'll probably have to rent it for a few months at least.
So all these kinds of cottages in the country stay the most popular vacation lodging. Some people, usually families even rent the same house for every summer.
All the vacation lodging is furnished, and it's not only furnished but also equipped with all the devices and amenities which will help simplify keeping the house. The lodging is of course self-catering, but the hosts or the agency owning the house usually think and take care of everything you might need to keep the household running smooth. Broadly speaking it's about a kitchen stove and a washing machine.
Lodging may be more or less luxurious. Luxurious may mean either a villa in an exotic country or just a huge cottage with a heated pool, a Jacuzzi, a billiard and a game room.
Some agencies dealing with lodging will even assist you in hiring a car, finding a babysitter, organizing transfer and in lots of other staff which may cost some trouble in the unknown place.
Vacation lodging is a family variant probably, especially when speaking of a countryside cottages. Although anyone could rent a hideaway cottage where he/she can enjoy him/herself. Also it's a good chance for anyone who need to change the surroundings for a while.
