Order a cottage near some private beach. As a rule, such rental cottages have a great back yard, outside shower, picnic table, clothes line, beach chairs, beach toys, and a wagon to help you enjoy your walk to the beach. You can spend your day on the beach fishing, claming, or just relaxing on sandy beaches. Day by day you and your children may choose between different activities such as hiking, biking, golf, tennis, basketball, miniature golf, fishing, shopping, restaurants, live theater, cinemas, museums, sightseeing, swimming, boating, sailing, parasailing, jet-skiing, and shelling - all them are envisaged for splendid family vacations!
Beside all listed in many of New England resorts there are fully supervised children's programs which provides a fantastic ranch experience for kids ages 4 through 11 years of age! 12 year olds may opt in or out of the program. The Children's Program continues to be a vital part of the ranch experience, as can be seen through the countless parents. It is always fun to watch the progression as newly arrived children cling to their parents as they first walk into the kids dining room. Who would believe that in a mere two hours they would have made 20 new "best friends" and would be in tears when they have to go home! There created such an enjoyable and safe environment for all the little "wranglers" and "buckaroos".
The children program typically is divided into two age groups, the 4-6 year olds (Buckaroos) and the 7-11 year olds (Wrangler Kids). The program is very active, incorporating riding along with other athletics such as tennis, swimming, and hiking and educational work in nature programs, games, arts and crafts, and other activities for a vacation experience that will not soon be forgotten! (This program requires your child's active participation. This is not a babysitting service.)
The Buckaroos (ages 4-6) have an active Daily Schedule. The younger Buckaroos do most of their riding in the arena, with our Counselors working with them to develop their riding proficiency toward going out on the trails. They start each day in the corral for riding and riding lessons. The Kids Counselors teach them the essentials of horse riding and also teach them to respect their 4-legged friend. Buckaroos also swim and work on crafts during the day but a majority of their time is spend in the corral. Parents may ride with their kids if they wish.
The Wrangler Kids (ages 7-11) have a more active Daily Schedule geared to their mental and physical capabilities. This group starts each day on a Trail Ride with the Kids Counselors. They also have daily riding lessons and participate in Breakfast Rides by riding to the Old Homestead. Parents may ride with their kids if they wish.
