Added: 12/27/2005

Uncovering new countries is an incomparable experience: you get to know not only architecture gems, but you face the new culture, full of unique peculiar features. You also have an opportunity to get acquainted with its nature, its lifestyle and its life speed. If you never feel an alien in a new place, head to the new discoveries, for example, to the Northern treeless Iceland.

Are you the one who is absolutely sick with traditional holiday destinations? Do you want to get alternative to what you have used to? Something special, unusual and memorable? It is not an incredibly difficult task. Stop for a moment to think where you have not been yet. Considering that the Southern part of the Globe you know more than well, isn't it natural to explore Northern destinations? Try Iceland for a change. This island country is easily accessible from all the continents. And once you are in Iceland don't miss the opportunity to see as much as you can. Even after Iceland day trips you will be filled with impressions. And if you have more days at your disposal, try more long-lasting tours in Iceland. Actually, the prices for tours are not very high and start from 419 USD, with the flight included.
Iceland day trips are known as those which are absolutely untraditional. It doesn't mean that you can't enjoy usual pleasures of cultural life here, like shopping or theatre going, but you can attend a concert or shop whenever you like in your own city, so why fly over the ocean in order to buy a pair of new shoes?
The exotic landscape and nature in Iceland give you a chance to see very special natural phenomena. Have you ever witnessed a volcanic eruption or the Northern Lights? If not, consult the calendar and come to Iceland in order to fill blank pages. Iceland day trips can consist of several sightseeing additions, for example:
• A guided horseback ride, lasting no more than three hours and giving an opportunity to contemplate volcanic landscapes
• A six hour trip to the Blue Lagoon, beautiful, naturally healing hot mineral-water oasis, situated in the centre of the lava field. On the way back to Reykjavik, you will visit the official estate of the president of Iceland.
• Take a half-an-hour flight to see the chain of islands destroyed by a 1973 eruption of lava. Unbelievable, but lava is still worm and you will be able to feel it with your own feet.
• Enjoy winter at night, head for the hills through a lava tube and see the magnetizing scenery of Aurora Borealis. (the magnificent Northern glow is only possible to watch during late autumn and winter months)
Apart from Iceland day trips, you can enjoy multi-day tours.
• Head to the southern coast to discover South Shore Treasures. During this five-night tour you will have an opportunity to see waterfalls, geysers, hot springs and ruins of Viking's castles. (the tour is available from late March to early October)
• Returning from the coastal line, head to the heart of the island and remain in the whirl of snowmobile excursion for five days. During the excursion you'll have seven or eight hours of snowmobiling every day. (don't forget the possible months for the excursion: from mid-February to late April)
You can also visit the hottest clubs, bars and restaurants of the country and enjoy yourself with more traditional entertainments. Anyway, the impressions you can get in this unique country can't be compared with any others.
