How to rent an Excursion limo and not get ripped off

Added: 12/24/2005

When it comes to status symbols, a limousine usually beats anything in this category hands down. It isn't hard to see why: we have always observed these gorgeous stretched babies in Hollywood movies and TV shows devoted to posh celebrities, and already got used to associate them with big time. This is why to celebrate something special or just have a good time with friends in an Excursion limo is so incredibly stylish.

An Excursion limo is the one that has enough space for at least 14 or even 20 of your friends, and, of course, everything you need to have a party, including a CD/DVD player, flat screen TVs, a bar, fiber optic lights and a lot more.  This kind of a limousine is especially popular on weddings and birthday parties.  The best known Excursion limos are Ford Excursion Tuxedo, Ford Excursion White, and Ford Excursion Mega Stretch.  These majestic vehicles are guaranteed to attract attention with their cutting edge appearance.

So, what is the best way to choose a company for renting an Excursion limo?  The first thing to do is find out which companies provide such type of service in your location.  This step is the simplest: take White Pages and look through a 'Limousines rental' category.  Or else, you can go online and use any of a deal of search engines, say, Google.  Just type in 'Excursion limo' and the name of your location.

Once you have got a list of companies, you need to pick the right one.  The most common mistake is to pick the one pledging a better price.  The latter fact often means that the limousine is old or overused; or even worse, the service is not as good as you would expect.  If you have chosen a deluxe drive don't save five dollars per hour to run the risk of spoiling the whole evening.

The best idea is to ask someone you know well who has already taken an Excursion limo.  If you don't know anyone with such experience it would be better to visit the company in person and inspect the actual vehicle you are renting to make sure it is worth money.  A good company is the one that has its own car fleet, so that vehicles are located in a single place and not scattered around the city.  This also serves a guarantee that a limousine will arrive exactly on time.

Make sure that you have settled down all the questions, such as cancellation fees, extra hour cost, vehicle inside stuff (drinks, CDs/DVDs etc.).  When renting a car, make sure you get the copy of the contract.  A good idea is to call a couple of days before the deal to confirm the reservation.

A proper Excursion limo will cost you about $90-130 per hour, depending on your location, the vehicle itself and additional services.  Besides, the newer the vehicle is, the more it will cost to rent.  The price may also differ depending on rent day and time.  Thus, to rent a limo on Saturday and Sunday may cost up to 100% more than at working hours; on Friday the difference will constitute 40 to 70%.  And don't forget that you have to pay for the vehicle even if it is not used.  Usually Excursion limousines are rented at full price for 8 hours minimum.  And don't forget to tip the chauffeur.  It is to note that some companies have gratuity included in the bill, so don't pay twice.

While some people call it pretentious, limousines will always be in fashion.  This is why the companies providing such type of service are numerous, especially in big cities, which fact significantly increases the level of competition on the limousine rental market.  Thus, to beat the way the companies shall do their best to make the clients believe that the game they have intended is worth the candle.
