There are several means to do this. They say that there is no safe tan- a tan is visible proof that your skin is being damaged, -but it is not totally correct. When ultraviolet radiation hits your skin, it stimulates cells known as melanocytes, which make a brown pigment called melanin. The melanocytes respond to the sun by making even more melanin to protect your skin from the sun. The melanin acts sort of like an umbrella for the skin's cells and can give people the brown tint that is a suntan. So don`t hear anyone telling that getting a safe tan outdoors is impossible - it is, if to take into account some tips. First of all, wear and re apply sunscreen, which is an absolute must for a safe tan. These lotions help keep skin hydrated and help prevent sunburn by blocking some of the sun's intensity. Then after
Even when you're serious about protecting your skin, you may sometimes want to glow your safe tan. Some people think that because sun lamps and tanning beds use only UVA light, which shouldn't leave you with a burn, they give a safe tan. In a tanning bed the ultraviolet (UV) light bulbs emit UV radiation that causes the tanning and is , essentially, artificially produced UV light similar to that coming from the sun. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation has been associated with an increased risk of skin cancer by epidemiological studies that have looked at causal factors in individuals who have skin cancer. Major scientific and medical organizations have concurred that UV radiation causes an increased risk of skin cancer and recommend limiting your exposure to UV-both from natural sunlight as well as from tanning booths. But the last research resulted into invention of so called safe beds, where special sunblocks help mitigate exposure to UV rays. But is not totally effective in preventing skin cancer, cause it wears off quickly and needs to be reapplied. Nevertheless, coming to a tanning salon you may inquire if they have such sunblocks at service.
If you still think that complete avoidance of the UV light is the way out for safe tan, sunless tanners are quite the thing for you. As with any sunless lotion for safe tan, just watch out for streaking (try diluting in coconut oil or other skin lotion and use more often, then you can better monitor the color development). Quality spray tanners are made from DHA, a simple sugar, so they are in fact natural sunless tanning products. If you have some money to spend, many salons offer airbrush tanning applications, which may look more like a natural tan and are less likely to give your skin an orange tint than self-tanners. So in search of the safe tan don`t forget about the tan itself- it must look natural. A few hours after the application is applied, you'll be sporting your new, safe tan. In case you have no allergy, you can think you have a safe tan, which, unfortunately won`t last long.
Of course, you must apply some safe tan products, choose tanning salons with modern and safe bulbs and wear sunscreen going outdoor even for a short time. but agree, that nothing will replace the pleasure of lying on a beach and relaxing in the shadow of a palm!
