The revamped club has ditched its gritty warehouse-like finishes in favor of an open and airy South Beach feel, complete with a glass-encased VIP room perfect for attention-seeking celebs. Guests are greeted by a disco-ball-inspired foyer that gives way to a sleek 2-floor space with reserved tables. The floor is framed above by a balcony lined with booths that offer a great view of what's going on down below. If you've had a couple tonics, don't get too close to the edge-the railings are dangerously thin, especially if you're in stilettos.
Crobar nightclub is truly nothing less than a Mega Club. This unique warehouse style venue features one of the best lighting and sound systems in Chicago. This is the club that started all the success of nationally acclaimed Crobar. Crobar is also in Miami South Beach, New York and next up is Las Vegas. The club seems to have distilled some of the attitude and atmosphere of its other locations, New York and Miami, and combined it with Chicago's house music heritage. With the legendary DJ Teri Bristol continuing her Saturday night residency, Crobar still gives patrons an aggressive, adrenaline-tinged night on the dance floor. The attentive and devastatingly attractive staff can knock you off your guard, but they will pull you back in with their friendly demeanor that makes everyone feel like a VIP. DJs and theme nights at Crobar are geared toward a diverse crowd. There is an eclectic mix of people as well as some nights a who's-who crowd of high-rolling media types and local nightlife entrepreneurs. By about midnight, the place is so packed that it gets hard to move around in the club. It's a total rush. As for the dress code, jeans are acceptable, no athletic, no gym shoes, no hats. The club is open Thursday through Sunday.
