Haiti vacations - in the world of magicHaiti has been considered the poorest country and at the same time the Magic Empire under the rule of François Devalue and his family for forty years. And Haiti vacations can be an exciting and at the same time terrifying experience for everyone who is going to visit this place and is looking for either entertainment or some change in surroundings. The theocratic dictatorship of the Devalue is still influencing the situation. If one is on Haiti vacations, he will come across people with guns who do not like the police, although there is nearly no police. Armed gangs are robbing, shooting and from time to time kidnapping foreign citizens. But Haiti vacations can become really interesting for the history of the country, mentality of people, their world outlook and religion ideas which, variously transformed, have occupied many other countries.
We are speaking about Voodoo now. Voodoo appeared in Haiti but its roots trace back to Western Africa from where the slaves were imported to Haiti. That is why this religion is generally referred to the product of slave-trade. It was a protest of slaves to humiliation which they suffered during the slave-trade astounding growth. Voodoo was banned by local powers, slaves were christened by force, and all that was reflected in customs and rituals of Voodoo which became a secret. Voodoo was being transformed through generations and, finally, as it was said above, it was imported to the continent. It became especially popular in New Orleans, Miami and New-York, having occupied the minds of more than 50 million fans. What is so special in this religion? There is a subdivision of the world into good and bad sides. There are magicians, named bokor, who use the rituals of the Black Magic. It is considered that they can even make a dead person alive turning him into Zombie. The true followers of the religion apply to the Black Magicians very seldom.
And just that very negative side of Voodoo has become so popular in the contemporary world. Several years ago American scientists became interested in the medicine which could turn a person into Zombie - the so-called biological robot. By that time several dozens of people, influenced by the unknown treatment, which blocked special places of their brain (responsible for the heart beating, breathing, blood circulating), but somehow left mind untouched, had been already examined. Such robots were probably used as a free manpower at the Haiti plantations. This fact and many others seemed evident and in the end of the 80-s one American researcher tried to bribe one of the priests. As a result the researcher was turned into a Zombie, and the priest was murdered for treason. The fact is that in many countries there are laboratories in which such experiments take place, but there is no evident result. But in the country of Voodoo magicians can do such things which the scientists can only dream of (happily!!!). Interesting story, isn't it?
